Hi GC! I've been a long time grower of our favorite flower but, this next summer I am finally going to get my food garden in working order. I have a large area that used to have grass and shrubs on it, it's been completely covered with blackberries and wild grass'. I'm in the process of taking it all down and planned on leaving most of it where it lay to decomp into the soil this winter. My question is what other things should I add to my soil to keep it full of nutrients all summer long? I don't want to have to fertilize often, hopefully only a few times, so I want the soil to be super rich. So far I'm going to add some manure and till it in. By the way I want to grow a little of everything. I even want to set aside an area for watermelon, pumpkins and strawberries.
