  1. Some pics of the plant I harvested today. DJ short Flo, grown from seed.

Some nice purples and very fruity, sweet and diesel-y scent.

Got a late start, mid July, so it's a smaller plant.

We have another pheno thats about 2-3x the size started at the same time, still growing.

Most excited to see how the Ace Seeds Nepal Jam turns out - it's a landrace hybrid . I'm surprised how late we have been able to keep them outside, we've had somewhat of an extended summer here.

  4. We are at 7,000 ft prone to sudden hail, major 60-70 degree temp changes, 100mph wind storm every few years... haha

Nothing is covered but we have some covers to pull out for emergency.

  5. Cool, I may grow that next a smoke report once you get dried and cured would be much appreciated.

    Smoke report:

Flo, short/purple phenotype - exceptional blueberry-diesel smell, great mental effect, 65% uplifting 35% relaxing, very desirable flavor and effect
cured buds retained beautiful purple color
    I highly recommend Flo!!!

Flo, taller phenotype - more earthy, slight diesel smell, uplifting but not as tasty as the shorter plant

Nepal Jam, both phenotypes - strange, unusual odor and taste, not bad but not my favorite
very intense indica effects - powerful relaxant and painkiller, very "stoney", couchlock, interesting mental effect - does not make one feel "stupid" but just unable to do much
great for insomnia, anxiety, pain, hyperactivity
    definitely a nighttime strain
it has an unusual "healing" sensation, like going into a deep trace hole where the mind is completely rebooted, but isn't so desirable for "recreation" for me personally

    I yielded about:
1/4 pound per plant from the nepal jam
2oz from the short pheno of flo
3oz from taller pheno of flo

Given that we didn't start them until early July - we are happy with the results

Hopefully next year will start earlier to get larger yields.....

  7. The Nepal Jam is gorgeous - especially for outdoor - sugar coated magic

  8. Here's my opinion after making three types of hash from the trim:

I used "Bubble Bag Dude" brand bubble bags from amazon
Used the smaller micron, a medium one and a larger micron one

For me - it is only necessary to use the smallest micron and the medium micron
I wouldnt waste time with any of the other bag sizes!

    Dry ice hash:
Tons of leaf matter, darker green color to the hash - not impressed!!
It's really hard to avoid breaking down the leaves while shaking chunks of dry ice

I tried fresh-freezing one of the plants - fresh off the farm, not even dried
This yielded a bright, clean, fruit and flavorful hash

I also used dried, cured material from another plant
This did not go well... because the leaf matters easily pulverizes and ends up in the hash, giving it a dark color and harsher smoke

If you do dry ice hash - fresh-freeze your plant material
And shake very gently so you dont break down the leaf matter

    3rd place

    Bubble hash:
    Yield was decent
A lot of the flavor gets lost into the ice water in my opinion

    It's messy and labor intensive

    Overrated in my opinion

    2nd place

Sifted dry hash (no ice or water, no solvent at all):
    My favorite!
Hair and bugs do get into the has which is a bummer :/
But this stuff has the best flavor

I simple put the trim into mason jars with the lids off for about 10 days after trimming, in a dark place

The I dumped the trim into the bubble bags and shook vigorously over a giant square piece of plexiglass that I got from home depot

Use a credit card to scrape up the kief

Then get a stainless steel pollen press from amazon

And pound the kief into little discs

    Pretty simple!

  9. Thanks so much for the report! I’m currently smoking DJ’s BB from the backyard. Similar flavor profile and effect minus the diesel. Really pretty plant to grow.

I have a long term love relationship with the Flo. When it’s on it’s my “the one”.

Like a drunken sailor I have been on a bit of a seed buying binge and have been super indecisive about what to grow next. I may have to put Flo back at the top of the list after reading the above.

One thing is clear though I need some more damn grow space.

Thanks again for the report one the bud and your hash trials. I may be inspired to do some dry sifting in the future.

Just about 10 gallons of buds and the ice house handed me nearly 20 pounds of dry ice.

    Kief !!!

I packed the jars so 20-25 grams per jar and twice that in the big jar. 300-375 grams of Kief.
Used up virtually all the bud on hand with just a couple of ounces I didn't run.
Years of doing this 4 times a year as I harvest and the jars cure.
10-15% recovery from buds is normal.
