Recently tried a 16 site rdwc setup using venturies instead of air stones and it worked perfectly. I want to move the operation outdoor and expand but keeping the rez cool is my biggest hurdle. Because i use venturis i need a pump with a very high flow rate; Much higher than hydroponic chillers are capable of. So instead I'm thinking of using a shell and tube heat exchanger together with a water chiller. My plan: use the chiller to cool the shell side fluid (water) to about 10 degrees Celsiusand run the nutrient solution (10 000 L) through the tubes before distributing it to the plant sites via venturi. am i missing anything here? What else should i consider?
