Hello GC and friends, I was wondering if anyone has done hydro outdoors before? I plan to see if this would be something worth trying, DWC outdoor. The worry I have would be keeping the roots cool. Has anyone out there tryed this? please post if so. Thanks!
ive been asking myself this for a while now. and even more after i got done with my most recent dwc... your containter would need to be supported and reinforced for all the weight it would pack on.
Well I thinking of doing the bubble buckets but with 44 rough boxs from lowes, their pretty sturdy. also thinking of doing the srcog with brackets to hold it in place. I would also run some kind of light on them when in veg to speed/bulk it up.
I grow outdoor hydro. Have 2 plants in an Autopot system and it is working really well. Check out my journal to see the results I am getting.
Works on gravity feeding from a Reservoir which is in an elevated position. The pot setups are on 2 and have a floating valve between the pots which regulates the water in the pots themselves. Great idea and I have had better than average results so far.
i have also ran this through my head.. thinking one day I may try it. the only challenge would be keep the nute solution cool enough. burying the boxes at ground level may help here. depending on the proximity of your plot, you may be able to figure a way to use a somehow add in a water chiller. I can imagine that a DWC outdoor system would give astronomical results if done correctly.
