I've not had a hit in at least 3 years. The reason I quit is I always felt like my heart was racing and I felt like feinting when i smoked. Granted, I was probably smoking way too much a day (around 4 or 5 full on bowls) and I was getting really great weed.

Now that my life is more stable and I'm more mature, I feel like I want to pick it back up again, only a couple times a week, only a couple hits at a time. Just to get the juices flowing and feel a bit more relaxed, really. I plan on using a nice pyrex bat just to get a couple hits packed in there to do the job. Does anyone have any advice for smoking the first time again? Any particular strands I should stay away from given my ''condition"? I'm a little frightened about what may happen because I don't wish to experience the reason I quit in the first place. I've heard that pot lowers your blood sugar levels. I feel like that may have contributed in part to my sickly-feeling highs in the past but I need guidance..
    Thanks so much!

  2. just toke and enjoy, i mean if u still dont like it just dont do it, more for me haha

  3. Start with just a joint or a bowl but just only fill it with.2 or somethin. Just eas into it. Happy tokin man

  4. I smoked for the first time in 40 days recently and I took one small hit out of a bong at first to make sure it wouldn't be too much. It was very enjoyable :D:D:D

Half hour later I offered to load a bowl which I took 2 hits off. Fun night

  5. Just get your life in order first than smoke weed. When your life is going shitty, smoking weed sucks.

  6. Your mindset going into a high pretty much determines the rest of it. Before you smoke dont psych yourself out by thinking that being high is a huge scary taboo, just remind yourself that youre smoking for stress relief and you enjoy it and btw when you smoke it increases your blood pressure a little bit so what you felt is completely normal. happpy toking man

  7. man just pick up the tube and rip it!! its gonna feel like the old times brotha!

  8. I'd go for some cheap mids to begin with -- its your first time in a while and you will really enjoy it after a 3 year t-break, so no reason to spoil yourself with some good stuff. And to avoid the panicky situations youve had before, just ease into it: hit by hit, take your time and try your best to stop at the perfect amount.

and i also gotta say, with smoking a large amount of weed you are always at risk of getting in over your head. take your time and enjoy being back in the saddle again

  9. Ended up taking a small hit this morning around 10ish. Felt pretty sleepy afterward, but no undesirable traits were present! Feeling good about it so far. Now, if I could only find that one bud that worked with me I'd be in heaven right now.
Looking for something really really mellow, not too intense. I'm not trying to blast off into the stratosphere. Any particular strain I need to be on the lookout for? Thanks again guys! Feels good to be back.

  10. don't worry about strain names, even something like northern lights can be crappy bud. judge it by how it smokes and looks and unless its from a grower or someone who know's the grower then its probably just a name added onto it.

but I think you would like an indica dominant, something to give you a nice deep body high where you can relax on the couch while watching some tv or something.

    happy tokin-

  11. Good to hear it went alright this morning.

If your worried about your blood sugar dropping just eat a chocolate bar are somthing before smoking.

If you're looking for more of a relaxing body high then I find edibles definitely do the trick.

  12. Just wait til a few months from now when you look back and think, "Whoa, I was only going to do this a few times a week."

  13. I know, right? It may happen. I find myself a bit busy these days but it's SUPPOSED to be a once or twice a week thing, haha.

  14. Have a light meal or healthy snack before smoking and Stay hydrated during AND after smoking, this is very important.
For 20-30 minutes before you even take a hit, get relaxed, find a comfortable place to sit, get all your tools/supplies ready, have some cold water within reach, and have some chill tunes or a funny movie to focus on. Think good, positive thoughts and remember to HAVE FUN.
Get in the mindset before you smoke to ensure a good experience. Remember that it's ALL IN YOUR HEAD man, this is key. Cannabis will not hurt you at all, but you may believe it if that is what your thinking in your head. You know what I mean?

  15. Make sure you eat before smoking and only take a couple of hits, you will have no tolerance so will get blazed pretty easily.. if after 15 mins you're not where you wanna be, take a couple more hits. :smoking:

  16. these are all really really great and valid points. never thought to eat before tokin', and never thought to keep hydrated. (I always get a bit thirsty and take a drink, but i never thought to consiously try to keep myself hydrated.)

Also the ''all in your head'' point is definitely true. That's probably what most of it was to be honest. Keeping in a good place BEFORE and DURING the experience is key. Can't smoke if I'm not ''in the zone'' to smoke.

Anyways, I'm going to toke again tonight and see how it pans out. if it's anything like it was last time, I'd say we're a go for ignition!

  17. Man...I'm good to go. It was likely a combo of low blood sugar, not eating right/hydrating and the ''head'' thing. I'm finding that if i'm in the zone, it's gravy, baby. Thanks for all this great advice. I'm enjoying it so far!
