Seems like a lifetime ago, and I guess it was.
Back in 1975, at central wa. collage the smoke hung thick in the Music dorm. As the resident stoned out artist, I was often at my desk, coming up with something bizaarrrrr, and strange. One day I was introduced to something new, the local mushrooms. As I did a lot of the time I wasn't about to waste an extreme buzz, on anything but new artwork.
As it was I sat for 7 hours straight with colored pencils, and created a new world, which I was very involved with at that moment. I almost made it up around the corner of that road, wanting to find out what lay beyond. That was probably my ultimate drawing, and over the years it was lost.
Several years ago I recreated the scene in a painting, which is very close to the original. Have any of you ever made it around the corner to see whats there????

  7. What type of painting style did you use? Like water-based, oil, tempera etc. I can't really tell...all I know is that it's a sick painting.

  8. This is an acrylic painting, which is water based, and allows you to build up layers of color more easily than oil...D.F.
