Osheaga music fest (was AWESOME!!!)

  1. I just came back from Montreal where this weekend I attended the huge Osheaga music festival. There were over 40 bands, and it's expected to become an annual event. Here are a few of the highlights of the show, I put the ones I saw in bold.

    Sonic Youth
    Ben Harper
The Flaming Lips (OH MY GOOOOOOD!)
    Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
    Dinosaur Jr.
    K-OS
    Metric
    Damian Marley
    G. Love and Special Sauce
    Wolf Parade
    Bedouin Soundclash
    Joseph Arthur
    Malajube
    Lady Sovereign
    Kid Koala
    Starsailor
    Islands
    Amon Tobin
    Bell Orchestre

Even if it's a long road trip, I urge everyone and anyone to come next year. I could not believe how good ALL these bands were. The crowd was awesome, everyone was really into it, it was good vibrations all around. There was a big variety of music too, from metal to rock, reggae to hip-hop.

The Flaming Lips alone were worth the ticket price. On top of the 40 dancers on stage, the confetti cannons, the giant screen projecting psychedelic films and the strobe lights, the singer actually got into a giant inflatable bubble and walked around ON TOP of the crowd. I think it may just have been one of the best sets I've ever seen.
