Organic Vegetable Gardening

  1. And it should be the opposite. We have communication technology like never before and only going to get better. I’ve taken 2 years of lessons and learned music theory that I never thought I would from right in this room. That wouldn’t have been impossible 35 years ago but much easier now. What we can learn about the garden with these contraptions is pretty extensive as well.

  4. Hi y'all, hugels are doing good, one thing Im gonna change is the sprinklers. The top of each hugel is where the water is needed most.
I'll gonna put drippers on top of each one. We've been getting alot of rain and it's helped alot.! Have a great wknd!

  6. I got a couple of ghost peppers from the local farmers market last year. The guy behind the table told me to be careful with them they're extremely hot. My wife was giving me one of those, are you serious looks.(married men you know the look). I took them home and dried them out ground them up. I made a big ole pot of chilli, I put maybe a 1/8th of a teaspoon of dried ghost peppers in it, I thought it was just right, my wife couldn't even come close to eating it, she coudn't even eat the broth LOL, and she likes things spicey also. She told me I should just throw it away because " It can't be good for your stomach". With sweat pouring off my face I look up and smile and say "It has a bite for sure". None got thrown away.

I'm pretty sure I have enough ground up to last me the rest of my life. Great in stir-fries also.

Really stoked about the squash plant in the last pic. No till bed is slow to pop off mostly potatoes and onions. Went for a survival type garden this year. Potatoes, onions, winter squash.

  16. Yessir it is. I’ve got like a half dozen plants that grow 3’-4’ across and 4’ high - I generally chop them down to the ground 4 times a year.

  17. I’m guessing you’d love the shit out of it. It obviously depends on where you chose but here on my dead end road I see maybe 2-3 cars all day on a weekend and thats just me neighbors who we luckily get along as good as you could ever ask for. We all watch out for each other as needed but everyone (ha - all 4 of the other houses lol) keeps to themselves too.

This is my solace spot and there aint no place I’d rather be.

Alot of folks like going on vacation. We just want to be HOME. I walk around smiling here.

While everywhere is what you make of it, you wouldn’t regret the choice.

  20. After all these years I’m finally growing some comfrey. I’ve got two roots in 5gal buckets and I accidentally dropped one in a sunny patch next to the house. Whoops!
