  4. I got caught by the crappy weather and haven’t got my garlic in the ground yet. I’m hoping we’ll get a little warm stretch soon that’s not raining :bang:

  7. Yes, just make sure you’re using garlic grown for seed if you want decent results. Grocery store garlic doesn’t cut it IME. Plant cloves 6-8” apart, 2-4” deep, and mulch heavily just before the ground freezes is a good time. A little compost on planting helps, and the same in the spring after they break ground. Harvest when 2-3 leaves are mostly brown. Don’t wait too long or the bulbs won’t last. Save your largest bulbs to replant.
It’s one of the easiest crops of all to grow successfully.

  10. Got my hugelkultur to the point where I have to wet it throughly. Unless it is warmer next weekend the snow and rain will help me out but we will see. Luckily it came together quickly because I had a tree already sawed up that had been against the fence for s couple of years . Procrastination of cleaning my yard paid off for once

Any of you guys ever seen this weird phenomenon?

My niece sent these pics to me from Arizona. Looks like the tomato seeds are sprouting inside the tomato. She said there were a few that had penetrated to the outside of the tomato too.

  12. Yes I had that in one tomato this year. Mine had been off the vine quite awhile before we ate it and it wasn’t nearly that bad, just a few. I wonder if that’s what happens when a tomato hits the ground.

  13. I think you get extra nutrition because of the sprouts.
It would save me a step in sammich makin. Sprouts and toms in one.
Seriously, never seen anything like that. Even in stuff that was left on the vine to rot (to feed a few of natures creatures).
    cheers
