high all. i don't frequent this section of grasscity often, but i have a quick question. I have an experimental plant (i have other plants, and i have experience growing.) of just some damn fine bagseed. it's growing in a mixture of 30% worm castings and 70% biobizz all-mix. it's about a month and a half old, and when she gets a little bigger i'm going to begin flowering. the plants entire life it has been given no nutrients really, other than fresh lemon juice when the PH was too high, and about a tablespoon of mollasses in the water every third watering. following the same fashion of adding little to nothing to the plant, what can i use to make the buds more dense? this plant is sharing 2 400w hps' and 6 27w cfl's with three other plants. as soon as this plant goes into flowering those plants will have the lights all to themselves. this plant is older than the others and started being grown when i didn't have money for nutes or anything. and i became curious about bud quality. so basically what i'm asking is; What are some techniques to creating denser buds without buying an expensive fert?
light green, My fall '09 grow I used an AACT that was made to be dominant with fungal microbes. Fungal microbes have a special relationship with the uptake of phosphorus, which as you know, is the nutrient plants use most when flowering. In my sig, there is a link to the response my plants had to the first application of this tea. I applied it at 17 days into the 12/12 cycle, and the plants responded within hours by raising their leaves toward the light. I subsequently applied the tea a couple of more times during the flowering cycle, and had a significant harvest of fat, dense and sweet buds. You can check out pics of my buds the day before harvest here. In my first flowering teas, I used either a 3.5 or a 5 gallon bucket with EWC,Hydrolyzed Liquid Fish Fertilizer, Dr. Earth Bud & Bloom Fertilizer and a tbsp of molasses. I now am currently adding a liquid humic/fulvic acid solution, a liquid kelp solution, Sunleaves Indonesian Bat Guano (high P) and a small amount of glacial rock dust. I'm not using the DR. Earth B & B, but am still using it in my soil. All of these ingredients are food for the microbes and push the fungal microbe count higher. I use a very small amount of molasses, as the bacterial microbes benefit more from it. With these ingredients, the tea is a diverse solution that has vitamins, hormones, amino acids, minerals, enzymes, macro and micro nutrients, and is alive with beneficial micro-organisms. The other thing I might point out, is the the guano tends to settle to the bottom of the brewer, and I've found that side dressing the plant with it works very well, with less waste, There is a lot of guano residue left over in the brewer when emptied. This method really worked well for me this past grow, and for my second organic grow, it far surpassed my first one. Let me know if I can further detail this process for you..... chunk
I've never made a tea, but those certainly were beautiful plants, do you think you could possibly run me through the process of making this? Or at least point me in the direction of a tutorial? This is something I'd be more than willing to try.
I like this shit. Easy to use, no mess, and you get bud that turns to stone when cured. Straight outta Humboldt, the name says it all. Budswel Liquid Bat Guano - 1 Gallon
Hey man I was thinking about this post today and ran across a tutorial. Here is the OG archive and in organics they have how to make tea. I hope that helps man. Overgrow.com's Cannabis Cultivation Grow FAQ - Stoner Forums - A Marijuana & 420 Friendly Community
budswel is good but over priced severely. Sunleaves guanos are cheaper and work just as well. Get the international house of guano for $30, an $8 (I believe it is 7 lbs) bag of algamin (kelp meal) 1-0-2, and a small bag of worm castings and you have yourself the same thing, just more of it. Make tea. Get some Plant Success soluble Myco stuff (cheap but has a higher count than most) and hit your plants with a myco boost drench at about 2 weeks into 12/12. When the buds start, hit them with a weak potassium booster like Earth Juice Meta-K ONE TIME!! ( it is the only liquid nutrient I use if any at this time). Guano from there my friend. Guano has not done me wrong.
hey I found a humic acid/fulvic acid with a 53% 13% make up thats the highest I have found whats yours?
Here are my suppliers published percentages: Fulvic: 1 Pound Highly Concentrated 70% Fulvic Acid. 100% Water Soluble WHAT IS FULVIC ACID? Fulvic Acids are the extract of the organic matter decomposition end product, being the only part of the humus that is soluble in any media (acid, neutral, and alkaline). Chemically, the fulvic acid molecule is nature's masterpiece. Where aromatic rings are conspicuous, with abundant carboxylic groups next to nitrogen and oxygen atoms; so polyvalent metals are easily chelated, which in turn liberates some anions such as phosphates, sulfates, etc. In these molecules, oxidant and reducing radicals are found, that enhance the breathing process of plants, besides of the sugars and amino acids that nourish the plants. THE IMPORTANCE OF HUMUS Stable compounds of colloidal nature that are obtained by the organic matter through the decomposition process, called humification, form humus. Organic matter, as such, yields very little to soils. However, thanks to microorganisms and their capacity to decompose it, the humus is processed, which is responsible for the biological, physical, and chemical activities of the soil. To make a 10% Fulvic acid liquid Solution. Mix 1 pound of Soluble Fulvic Powder with 1 gallon of water. Dilute with water for application. 1 - 4 liquid ounces of concentrate to 1 gallon of water to cover 100 sq.ft. I apply this product weekly on all my greenhouse plants. Mix 8 dry ounces of Humic acid powder with 1 gallon of water to produce the liquid concentrate. Shake and stir well to completly dissolve the powder. Then, use the mixing chart below for application. Apply as a seed starter, root-soil drench, or foliar spray. Once the powder is mixed with water, store it in a closed container for up to one year in a cool dark area. Apply as often as you wish. For a stronger solution mix up to 1 pound of Humic Acid powder with 1 gallon of water. At the rates listed below this product can be applied daily. Coverage is 100 - 500 square feet. This product is compatable with most liquid fertilizers except those with a low pH or high liquid calcium content. Do not mix with calcium nitrate! Apply this rate for soil application Apply this rate as a seed starter Apply this rate as a foliar Maximum Concentration Optimal Concentration Minimum Concentration 2 ounces of liquid humic acid concentrate per 1 gallon of water 1 ounce of liquid humic acid concentrate per 1 gallon of water 1/2 ounce of liquid humic acid concentrate per 1 gallon of water Soluble humate powder acts a natural soil and plant growth stimulant. It is a dark brown to black powder with an 80-86% humic acid content. It is easily assimilated by plants and some of its main functions include improving plant immunity, improving plant metabolism, improving plant root development, improving the supply of plant nutritional elements and increasing the formation of ferments. Humic Acid promotes the increased accumulation of chlorophyll, sugar, amino acids and more and improves the efficiency of nitrogen utilization, allowing for reduced fertilizer rates. One of the primary actions of Humic Acid is to increase the plant's ability to withstand the stresses of heat, drought, cold, disease, insect and other types of environmental or cultural pressures. Humic also increases general plant productivity, in terms of yield, as well as plant stem strength. Within the soil, humic stimulates soil microorganisms, promoting Humus I bought a 1 lb. package of a 50/50 humic acid/fulvic acid blend of these 2 soluble powders. I should be good to go for the next year. chunk
