Organic Earth-tainer grow... Am I missing anything?

Discussion in 'Growing Organic Marijuana' started by mudchaos, Sep 20, 2009.

  1. Well I just finished mixing up a batch of soil, its a slight variation on LC's mix as follows:

    Base mix:

    6 parts Promix BX
    1 part perlite
    1 part vermiculite
    2 parts Earthworm castings
1 cup per C.F. dolomite powdered lime

Each "part" was 3 quarts, so 1 batch is 30 quarts or ~ 1 C.F. (cubic foot)

After mixing each "batch" I added the following fertilizer mix.

    Fertilizer per C.F.

    1/2 cup blood meal
    1 cup bone meal
    1/2 cup kelp meal
    1/2 cup azomite
    1/2 cup green sand
    2 tbsp mycorrhiza

I put 3 "batch's" into each of two 20 gallon trash cans and watered each can with 2 gallons of distilled water with 1 tsp liquid karma and 1 tsp maxicrop seaweed concentrate in each gallon of water.

I reserved enough unfertilized soil to fill 10 4" peat pots to start the seedlings in.

I plan on transplanting 2 of the plants into an Earthtainer (Home Page) self contained growing system filled with the above mix with fert added, the rest of the plants will go into 14" smart pots. These will all be going under a 600w HPS. The seeds are Black Domina from Sensi Seeds, ordered from Doc Chronic (thanks Doc for the always fast & reliable stealth delivery).

    So...
My question is, am I forgetting anything, missing anything, any suggestions or tips would be most welcome.

    Thanks in advance G.C.:D:hello::wave:

    Peace,
    Mud

  3. Hey mistergreen,

This is my second indoor grow, and the first time growing MMJ in an earthtainer. I did grow some tomatoes in an earthtainer outside last summer with great results so am curious to see how it goes with the MMJ. No I didn't think the pH made much of a difference when growing organic, is this something I need to worry about, this is my first totally organic grow, my last grow was mostly organic but not completely.

    Thanks for the input,
    Mud

  4. hmm ive read you need not worry about ph and also the opposite in my own experience my strain showed really bad signs of defeciency at 7.0 ph and when i was advised to go for 6.5 ph i did and they picked up again i stayed at 6.5 ph thru out my whole grow after that and i was fine just a thought mate im sure there will be more experienced organic growers here that will know a lot more than me........be lucky mistergreen :D
