Organic Blueberry Closet

  1. Well I've been reading on here for awhile and decided to start my own journal. This is my 2nd grow, (my first was a bagseed plant, 2 cfl's, $0.99 soil, and nice 3 foot hermie from light leaks in the closet.).
This time I'm growing 2 plants and trying to do things right.
    seeds-DP fem. Blueberry
    soil- foxfarm marine life
nutes- Earth Juice 2-1-1 all organic
    light- 2 35w cfl, 250W HPS
    ventilation- 2 10" fans
    Ph- about 6.8

Babies a few days after sprouting. I have one thats purple and one nice and green.

  2. These pictures here are the plants at about 4 weeks after sprouting. The pics in between have recognizable faces and I dont want to post those.

It turned out that the purple plant is a mutant. The undersides are dark purple and its growing all different types of leaves and very slowly. The green plant on the other hand has really taken off. These pics are a few days after I transplanted and the plants really look a lot better than when they were rootbound

  3. looks like you're on your way, are you using any nutes yet?

  4. I'm watering about 2 cups in each plant every 3-4 days and adding the ferts every other watering.

  5. Well i havent posted for awhile. In the days past, my appt. was robbed. They took a bunch of useless stuff but they also took my mutant purple blueberry plant. So now I have relocated the remaining one at a close friends home. The plant is about 5 weeks into flowering. This is the furthest I've gotten with a plant. How long do you think is left. The last pic is from about a week ago

  6. Was her Photoperiod altered by the "Spit-Cup" that broke into yer' place?....if it was not then ya' have another 3-4 weeks .....if the Hormones were thrown off by the intruption then maybe 5-6 weeks....but she looks good

  7. That was my primary concern. I was out of town for the night and the lights come on at 9 am. Depending on what time of the night they came in and the way everything was set up, it only got some dim light a few hours before the light turned on. It seems to be ok but I agree that flowering was probablly stunted a little. It only stretched about 8 inches. I switched the lights on dec 12th and the first signs of flower were on the 16th.

  8. aww :( as i was reading this one, i was going to post saying that i really wanted to see how that mutant plant turned out in budding, but then i kept reading and got the bad news. sorry to hear about that break in! unless you live in a neighborhood where break-ins are common, i would look to an inside person as the prime suspect; someone that knew you had those plants and figured you wouldnt be pissed if the small one was taken and the big one left behind. its not fun to point the finger at someone you know, or even suspect someone you know, but why would a random person break in to take a runt plant as opposed to a big one, and leave a bunch of other more valuable stuff behind...? sorry if im making some assumptions as i dont know the whole story, but it is still very possible.

anyway, your plant looks really good, i am growing blueberry right now too but going the all-out chemical way, and so far so great. :) hope the rest of your grow goes well, keep us posted with some pics

  9. I'm in a pretty high crime area and they definitely took a lot more than the plant . The mutant had caught up pretty well actually. It was a little shorter but a lot wider and had purple leaf undersides. All of its mutant traits were gone and it was looking awesome. It was just easier to grab than the big one which was tucked away in the back.

I was really looking forward to the crazy plant too. It had a lot of purple all over the plant where the big one just has a light blueish tint on the buds. Hopefully the finished product will have more color in it.

  10. Here's a few more pics. Gave it its first 4 gallon flush and the runoff was around 6.9. I plan to fertilize about another week, then plain water til the end. I'm hoping to harvest in another 3 to 4 weeks. What do you guys think?

  11. I think its going to be more in the 4-6 week range to finnish, just from general looks of it, however, get yourself one of those radio shack mini microscopes and don't stop ferting till the trichomes start turning from milky to whatever corol blueberry trichs turn to. Then start your flushing.

p.s. when the trichs start turning from clear to cloudy/milky reduce the amout of ferts you are giving them, also, if you are using a bloom booster of any kind now is the time to apply that.

  12. Really, that long? I guess the interruption hurt it more than I thought. I changed the lights 6 weeks ago. It does say 8 to 10 weeks for the blueberry though. I've never gotten this far with a plant before and I definitely want to wait. Btw. the trichs have a light blue color to them right now and some of the leaf undersides are starting to turn purple. I hope it will take on more color toward the end.

  13. Here's a few more pics. This is two weeks later, 9 weeks since changing the lights. The buds are getting fat, the leaves are changing, there's purple all over it, and it has a nice fruity blueberry smell. I'm really glad I decided to go all organic. My mouth is watering just thinking about my first homegrown.

  14. those buds look delicious... I once got ahold of some blueberry, it had an amazing blueberry pie taste. Congrats!:D

  15. Here's some pics of my new blueberry babies. Again I have one purple one and one green one. I'm a little worried because the purple one hasn't grown in a few days and some of the roots have died. The plant looks good above ground though so hopefully it will make it.

  16. beautiful blueberry buds!!! i'm growing blueberry in my closet also..organically too!!! any tips that you may wanna suggest!?!?

  17. Nice...my blueberry's turned the same purple color too....

oh! i see you had the muchies from one of your pics:D

  18. Here are the latest pics. I trimmed some of the canopy leaves and the extra light penetration has really helped ripen up the buds. I plan to harvest the top portion in the next 7-10 days than give the bottom buds a few more days under the hps to fatten them up. After that, i plan to reveg and begin all over again.

  19. Ucflt4, I hate telling you this, but honestly I think you plant may have too many problems to be able to regenerate at all. :(
I actually think you may have some budrot in there, some of those buds just don't look right to me.

    Sorry!

  20. I have examined all of the buds very closely and I assure you they are healthy. They keep getting bigger every day and smell more and more fruity. I have taken a small premature sample and it is curing right now and smells wonderful. The humidity is low and I am keeping a very close watch for mold and such. However, I'm curious what makes you think my buds are rotting.
If you're referring to the burned leaves they are exactly that, from having the light too close. The top buds got burned and grew into very strange shapes. The leaves yellowed and I clipped them off when they were dead.
