Organic Auto question

Discussion in 'Growing Organic Marijuana' started by Skip I am, May 29, 2019.

  1. Since shortly after transplanting on 5/11 outdoors this auto has had droopy leaves. Other than droopy there really doesn't appear to be any issues. It appeared to be suffering from overwatering just before transplant from 1gal to 25 gal and other than rain it has only received 1 watering about 10 days after it was moved outside. Buds are definitely continuing to grow and trichs are beginning. The soil is the same soil that my entire grow this year is using that was started in October.

Could it be transplant shock? I've never had it before that I've noticed and the root ball was undisturbed during transplant.

The leaves aren't tacoing from heat stress and are beginning to form purple tips. Could the root zone being warm cause droopy leaves? While I don't know what the soil temp is. I assume it's a very real possibility. Any ideas on what to insulate the pot with that will still let it breathe normal? 20190528_113500.jpg 20190528_113449.jpg 20190527_195522.jpg

  2. Outside of the pots are reading in the mid 60s for temp so I am pretty sure it's not heat related.

  3. It may just be from the change in environment, and I bet she is putting a lot into growing roots trying to fill up that big pot.
I would just be patient and LITFA.

  4. Thanks man and that definitely makes sense. Maybe next time I won't pot up to such a big pot for an auto. Or do it much sooner than I did.

  5. Pot up earlier. Like 3 weeks or so in a one gallon, that way it has more time to fill the final container.
What you would like to see is that the roots are just starting to fill the original container at transplant time of about 3 weeks. You don't want root bound, but want just enough roots that the soil is held together well, making for an easy transplant.
    hope that made sinse

  6. Yup made complete sense. I was in a gallon pot before I transplanted to the 25 but I will definitely pot up sooner on the next 2

  7. Could always plant directly into the 25 gal.

  8. Don't work for me. I start them indoors and it always seems I get much faster growth stepping up pot sizes.
