  1. hey groovy cats, i have a question. i just moved to eugene, oregon from arkansas and my wife and i both qualify for medical marijuana, but i heard that the state stopped issuing new OMMP cards and unless you already had one at the time it passed you cant receive one. i planned on being my own caregiver, but i dont know what to do. could som beone from this area please help me out?

    peace, blades!

  2. The state stopped issuing the cards due to the supreme courts recent ruling, which says the federal laws regarding marijuana posession and cultivation supercede the state laws.

As a result law enforcement can prosecute you EVEN IF you own a legally issued card regardless of when it was issued. However, its likely officers will choose to enforce their democratically elected state laws, yet there is a small risk involved.

Either way, there is no way I know of to LEGALLY get a card now. :(

  3. state officers will enforce the state laws... the feds will enforce federal laws.. so beware of the feds ..

  4. i beleive they started the program back up. Shortly after the recent supreme court ruling a lot of medical marijuana states put their medical marijuana programs on hold until the state attorney general(s) from those states commented on the issue. Every state came to the same conclusion that it's not illegal for states to allow medical marijuana, the supreme court ruling doesnt have any effect on how states choose to handle medical marijuana. The ruling doesnt make medical marijuana illegal on state levels, it just means the feds can arrest you if they want to, not state cops.

I could be wrong but im pretty sure medical marijuana is back up and running in oregon.

call or email the oregon chapter of norml or call or email americans for safe access. Both ogrinzations will have all the info you need.
