Options for starting clones in coco?

  1. What options/plugs are there to start clones in coco? I do not want to use Rockwool for clone plugs.

I was thinking of compressing some Roots Organic coco mix into Dixie cups and just making my own, this way clones are already growing in high quality media. Would this work ok though with the Dixie cups?

The clones would move once right to 3.4g Airpots when they're ready to veg & then flower

Is there any type of fill & press tray that allows you to make your own coco plugs like this say 20 or 30 at a time?

    Thanks.

  2. don't compress just use coco and a dixie and you'll be fine.

  3. Coco packed down fairly well is a lot tighter than Rapid Rooter type plugs. I hate those things.

As far as trays you don't need anything special. Grab a 25 slot (or whatever) tray and put coco into the slots. I've done it before for seed starting, I'm sure it will work equally well for clones.
