Alcohol takes so many lives. So does tobacco. So why aren't these things illegal and pot is? I think that weed has the ability to improve the quality of life. It opens your mind and allows you to see things in a new perspective, more often than not a positive one. It can teach you things about the world as well as yourself that you hadn't previously noticed. It can calm you down when you're having a bad day and put you in a more mellow mood. It's not as dangerous as the government, the media and everyone else tries to portray it as. It's relaxing, medicating, and it produces goods and services. It also creates peace among others - people off all different kinds. Personally, I use it for spiritual and educational purposes. Many people use it daily for recreation, which is all good with me... but like with anything, if you aren't careful you can let it consume your life rather than amplify it. One reason it's still illegal is largely due to the fact that so much money is made off of drug charges & arrests. What half of the world doesn't realize is how harmless it really is, and how many more jobs and products we could produce if we just made it legal. It's totally cool with me if someone doesn't want to smoke, but one person's beliefs should not regulate the lives of everyone else. Ignorance is the root and stem of every evil.

    "It's not a drug. It’s a leaf."

"Hemp is of first necessity to the wealth & protection of the country."
    - Thomas Jefferson

"The illegality of cannabis is outrageous, an impediment to full utilization of a drug which helps produce the serenity and insight, sensitivity and fellowship so desperately needed in this increasingly mad and dangerous world."
    - Carl Sagan

"If the words "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" don't include the right to experiment with your own consciousness, then the Declaration of Independence isn't worth the hemp it was written on."
    - Terence McKenna

“They lie about marijuana. Tell you pot-smoking makes you unmotivated. Lie! When you're high, you can do everything you normally do, just as well. You just realize that it's not worth the fucking effort. There is a difference.”

“Why is marijuana against the law? It grows naturally upon our planet. Doesn't the idea of making nature against the law seem to you a bit . . . unnatural?”
    - both by Bill Hicks.

"Well, as I understand it, the main supporters are beer companies and the pharmaceutical companies. I'd like them to show me the dead bodies from marijuana. But they can't because there aren't any."
    - Jack Herer

"Marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest therapeutically active
substances known to man." ~ DEA Chief Administrative Law Judge Francis L.
Young 1988, ruling IN FAVOR OF the Medical Value of Marijuana.
Why drink and drive if you can smoke and fly! :smoke:
