  1. Hi all! I'm goin' to be growing for the first time here in about a month. I will be starting in the basement. I'm just lookin' for opinions on my set-up and where I can maybe cut some corners, but I've always heard you get back what you put in so I think I've found the perfect balance of simplicity, cost, and effectiveness.
Any and all input is welcome and I'm lookin' forward to hearing some feedback and maybe some new things I haven't researched yet. Thanks in advance for readin'!

    Growing Area
I am going to be using the AC Infinity 3x3 Smart Grow Tent Kit. It includes the tent itself, the Controller 69 Pro, a 6" inline fan, the 240W LED board-light, the 6 Oscillating clip fan, 6" carbon filter, a 3x3 trellis net, pruning shears, and 6 5-gallon fabric pots. I would go for the 4x4 version but it is 80" tall and my basement is only 74" tall. The basement has central heating/cooling like the rest of the house so it shouldn't be too bad for me to start during this upcoming winter in the Midwest.

    Growing Light(s)
    Rather than using the 240W light LED board included with the Kit I am going to be getting the 500W LED bar-light. I've done some research on PAR, PPFD, and DLI and my schedule using the manufacturers PPFD chart will be as such;
This is based on 18" from canopy, auto-flowering seeds, and 18/6 light cycle.
    • Germination: Start light at 15%(210 umol, 13.6 DLI)
    • 1.5 Nodes: Turn light to 20%(280 umol, 18.1 DLI)
    • 3 Nodes/Beginning of Veg Until Flower: I will keep light at 25%(350 umol, 22.7 DLI) and gradually increase each week until I reach the max DLI I am aiming for during veg at 50%(700 umol, 45.4 DLI) and keeping it their until flower.
    • At Start of Flower: I will turn light to 55%(770 umol, 49.9 DLI) and keep there until 3 weeks before harvest where I will gradually reduce until 35%(490 umol 31.8 DLI)
I am confused on what I hear about DLI though. I hear 160-350 PAR for seedlings, 400-700 PAR for veg, and 900-1300 PAR for flower but basing it all off of DLI it seems during flower I will be short on PAR but a little high on DLI during flower. Can someone explain this?

    Growing Medium
I will be using Roots Organic Formula 707(Coarse Peat Moss, Perlite, Coco Fiber, Pumice and light nutrients) and Nature's Living Soil Autoflower Recipe. I plan to do their super-soil method with bottom 1/3 of NLS and RO mix and rest with pure roots organic and amending with liquid nutrients as needed.

    Nutrients
As for nutrients I will be using the TPS One Pro Kit. It is supposedly an all-in-one nutrient mix that also includes their terp booster and canopy foliar spray. I will be following their feedchart for amended soil at 1/2 strength until mid-late flower where I will use 1/4 strength as the roots reach the NLS mix.
I will also be using Real Growers Recharge once a week.

    Temperature and Humidity
    Using this VPD chart I will be setting a schedule of temperature/humidity and keeping it there using the kit companies Humidifier and insulating/removing insulation as needed. I am going to try to not have to buy a dehumidifier(to save $$$) or space-heater(as fires scare me) while keeping it within these ranges. So, the schedule is as follows;
    • Seedling-Early Veg: 63%-72% Humidity|21-24C(69.8-75.2F)|0.4-0.78 VPD
    • Late Veg-Early Flower: 54-61% Humidity|23-26C(73.4-77F)|0.8-1.13 VPD
    • Mid/Late Flower: 43-47% Humidity|24-26C(75.2-77F)|1.22-1.55 VPD

    Seeds
I am going to be using 4 Fast Buds Gorilla Cookies Auto seeds or 4 Atlas Seeds Froot by The Foot Auto seeds. I may go for the Fast Buds for my first grow as they're cheaper but they are both supposedly very high yielding and quality strains. They will be grown in 4 5-gallon pots.

    Tools
    • GH PH Up/Down Kit
    • Milwaukee PH Pen
    • Pot Raisers and Saucers
    • 3-in-1 PH, EC, and Soil Temperature Gauge
    • 10ml Oral Syringes
    • 3x3 Flood Tray
    • Led Magnifying Loop
    • Mason Jars
    QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS
My basement during the winter is usually anywhere from 66(at night) to 76(during the day). It is also pretty humid as is but have not measured it yet.
    1. Will I probably need a dehumidifier for drying/curing?
    2. How do you regulate temperature/humidity in your tent?
    3. Will be going under/over on either temp/humidity be devastating if variations are only minimal?
My soil mix comes after seeing this post by GWE and hearing good things about coco/peat/perlite and Roots Organic so rather than FF CL and NLS I chose RO707 and NLS Autoflower for a good mix.
    1. Is this soil too "hot"?
    2. What is watering like in coco/perlite/peat?
    DLI and PAR?

Varying PH levels during grow? I've heard that starting at a ph of 6.1 and gradually increasing it throughout the grow to 6.8 is beneficial for the plant. What is your guys' advice on this?
    1. Should I just stick with the 6.5? Or maybe sometimes 6.3, sometimes 6.5, sometimes 6.7?
Should I use nutrients every other watering?
    1. Every watering? Only when they show they need it such as growth slowdown?

    THANKS AGAIN!
If YOU made it this far I just wanna say thanks. I've tried to do as much research as possible before posting this and getting all of this information together. I will be starting a grow journal once I have everything together but before I did that I wanted to post here for help/advice and/or critiques and additions or removals. If you took the time to answer some of my questions and concerns I appreciate it!

    1. Will I probably need a dehumidifier for drying/curing? YES BUT THEY ARE EXPENSIVE BEST TO WAIT AND SEE
    2. How do you regulate temperature/humidity in your tent? INK BIRD TEMP CONTROL I GOT 5 lol
    3. Will be going under/over on either temp/humidity be devastating if variations are only minimal? NO THEY ARE WEED PLANTS A LOT TOUGHER, A HUMIDIDSTAT LATER WILL HELP, GET IT WITH THE INKBIRD, AVOID OVER 70%RH

    1. Is this soil too "hot"? SEEMS GOOD, KEEP A BAG OF PERLITE CLOSE BY MIX IN 30% OF THE POT TO COOL IT
    2. What is watering like in coco/perlite/peat? WASH THE STUFF FIRST FREE OF SALTS
    DLI and PAR?

SEEDLINGS NEED MORE ROOT HEAT THAN LIGHT, ALL THE ACTION IS IN THE ROOTS UNTIL EARLY VEG,SOFT LIGHT IS GOOD NOTE: 700-800 PAR IS ALL YOU NEED ANYMORE REQUIRES C02, MOST MODERN LIGHT DO 800 PAR WITH EASE SEE BUGBEE

STICK WITH 6.5 ALL THE WAY, NOTER ITS THE SOILS THAT SET THE PH AND 6.5 IS THE BEST SO FAR IMO
Should I use nutrients every other watering?
    1. Every watering? Only when they show they need it such as growth slowdown?
    2. WITH NUTES AND WATER ALWAYS LIFT THE POT FIRST think: WATER OR NOT BUT IN GENREAL MY GORWS ONLY GET 1-2 COFFEE CUPS OF WATER A WEEK IN FLOWE THEY ARE IN A HIGH HUMID AREA
GOOD LUCK (SORRY FOR THE CAPS)
