Opinions on freezing cannacaps before comsuming?

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by Twin4life, May 26, 2019.

  1. Recently bought an ardent and using dry flower to make cannacaps w mct oil..several recipes show freezing after infusing then warming up again..is that where I'm going wrong the caps don't seem that potent ..last batch was 7 grams flower 3 tablespoons mct oil and a tablespoon leitchin ..is the freezing process necessary?

  2. As far as I know the freeze just further softens the material.
I use the freeze step as I let the Kief caps melt in my mouth and the freeze removes the gritty mouth feel it has without the freeze.

Repeated freeze and heats will start to degrade some of the THC to CBN and it changes to a better sleep aid after 4 or more cycles.

  3. The freezing process is not obligatory. Are you straining your cannabis?
How many caps did you make? 7 grams = ~1000 mg thc if you leave the cannabis in your oil. It's less THC if you strained.

  4. What do you use to cap?

  5. I have never tried to cap bud in oil. I tried to cap some shatter in coconut oil with freshly ground black pepper. It was quite difficult to cap.
