Is newer always better? Choose the operating system that you prefer to use, for whatever reason.

Please share which operating system you chose, which operating system you generally use, or which operating systems you have tried.

My mistake: the second "Tiger" is Leopard... sorry.

  2. well i really hate vista when i got my computer for graduating it was on here and it sucks its always giving me problems and crashing I already had to reformat my computer within the first month i got it.

i didnt mind xp after most of the bugs were worked out.

  3. i feel like an idiot.. but.. i do not know.
i have a mac, though. got it recently, so... yeah.

sorry for being a retard. hah.

*home computer was xp. whatever i have now, i love it 9874x more.

  4. Let me preface this by saying I know nothing about computers.

I have Vista, and I really haven't encountered any of the problems that I hear people complain about so frequently. It's just as good as XP imo.

  5. I'm all about Mac OS X 10.2+ but unfortunately there's just too many things I need that Windows offers to make it my primary.

I stick with Windows XP, and am going nowhere near Vista. Hopefully things just continue to move more towards Apple!

  6. Windows XP works well for me, so i stick to it.

  7. Well, I've used pretty much everything except Linux and Unix. I mean, I've tried them a little, but not enough to really understand their beauty. On the other hand, I consider the best Windows versions to be the following, in order: Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Vista, Windows ME, Windows 98SE, Windows 95, Windows 3.1... The best version of Mac OS is Leopard, but Tiger is really close second. Most of the new add-ins don't do much special.

  8. I rather use linux and window xp.
Right now, I'm using windows xp. Its far the best windows os to date.
Linux on the other hand, it's really good, chances you'll get virus is NONE! .000001% lol
Planning getting it sometime next year.

  9. Linux here, I use it on my laptop (netbook, came with linux). It's quick and cheerful on a weaker machine, no complaints really. Just takes some getting used to

I have XP on my PC, always used it, but it's slower than my linux netbook most of the time.

  10. I am a PC and I smoke marijuana.

  11. ^^^hahahahaha

I have Vista...but had no choice when I bought my new laptop.

  12. Vista:

Are you sure you want to do this? Are you really sure? Are you sure you're really sure? Send Microsoft your reason why so we can evaluate your answer.

  13. You have vista on laptop. BAD CHOICE!
If you switch to xp, You'll thank me. :p

  14. loved xp, but I have vista now.

  15. I use two machines, one with XP and the other with Ubuntu Linux. I also have a CENT OS Linux VM running on my XP.

XP is the best windows OS right now even though it's easy to get infested with malware. Vista is ok for home use but I would never recommend it for a business. I'm looking forward to Windows 7.

The best OS in my opinion is any Linux OS. I made that call when I discovered that I can use LYNX and WGET to automatically download my porn. Now you just can't beat that. :D

  16. Oh I know maxrule.
They going get rid of vista and move to windows 7. From I look at it, it sounded like vista layout but better coding, less bugs and so forth.

  17. I've used everything on that list, but as a hardcore gamer; XP is by far the winner.

The software support is unrivaled, along with overall great performance. As long as you know what you're doing, viruses/spyware/adware won't be a problem.

  18. i'm no computer whiz. but i like windows xp.

i have home edition on this pc.

i've had it since 2002 lmao

  19. I use OS X 10.5 on my main machine, a Macbook Pro. I also use 10.4 on my iBook which is mostly my girlfriends now. Been using Mac's for about 5 years now and since the first month I decided not to go back (unless there is a drastic change). I knew how to keep XP running smooth and really had no problems with it, I just find that OS X is much more intuitive for me to use as well as requiring much less maintenance and being much more stable. I use it for photography and graphic design (Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop CS3) as well as music prodution (Ableton Live mostly).

  20. Vista rocks, except for the fact that it has no DOS.
