Im about to buy a new 1000 watt light kit and I wanted to know what the diff is between a open and closed cool tube? Open being no glass on the hood. Thank you
Heat control... I used to run an open 400 watt light with no cooling. It would burn and bleach my plants all day long. Upgraded to a cooled hood and it made all the difference in the world. My personal pref is cool tube. Took temps from 85 without aircon and 79 with aircon to 78-79max in the middle of the hottest day in spring without air con and around 66-73 with air con. Anything over 80 and your plants will suffer without supplementary c02. Cool tubes have air sucked over the bulbs from the inline fan... Makes it so much easier and you save a bit of cash not having air con on all the time. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
