Open Letter to the President of 2012

  1. Dear Mr. President,

At the end of the Great Depression in the 1920's over one fifth of America wasn't working. As a part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's "New Deal" he put America citizens to work on parks, bridges, and trails by creating a vast public works program for the unemployed.

The legalization of cannabis can be your "New Deal". By instantly creating new cottage industies, as well as its profitable uses as a textile. This could create hundreds of thousands, if not millions of new private sector jobs across this great nation, practically overnight. All the while instantly lowering crime and creating taxable income streams.

This is what our country needs to heal from such a dramatic economic downturn, Mr. President. Please do the right thing and legalize our freedom.

    Sincerely,
    The Nation

    We are legion.

  5. dude... my point was to address whoever wins the 2012 election.

yeah, i guess, regardless of who wins you could still call him a dickface, but my point was to show him how badly our nation needs this to help recover from the Great Recession of 2008.

    and besides.... you're Canadian!

  6. There is no recovery buddy, its all planned out. Thats probably way over your head though

  7. The prohibition of psychoactive substances is the direct cause of numerous self destructive social and heated political issues.
A vast majority of violent crime in this country happens as a result of people getting wronged in a trade that has no legal recourse to settle such disputes. As a result, blood is spilled over trade disputes.
How does this policy effect our neighboring countries?
Canada doesn't have any major trafficking routs that are easy to track or monitor, so along a long, stable, but mostly unsecured border drugs spill into the nation with ease, and minimal violence. With Mexico on the other hand, the border is shorter, the terrain is rough and barren, so there are a few hotly contested routs for drug, weapon and human trafficking, as a result, between those illegal, but lucrative trades, there is extreme violence and bloodshed along that border, and along the entire trade routs throughout Mexico and Central America, as a result, we have a couple broken, violent, unstable third world nations in our part of the world because of our own bad policies. Because our nation looks safer and more hospitable, refugees from the war on drugs spill across the border wherever they can, only to be treated with hostility in the nation that is responsible for all the problems in their homeland.
In order to maintain the current national agenda, public knowledge and information about psychoactive substances must be restricted to the people who distribute psychoactive substances, i.e. pharmaceutical manufactures, doctors (and as an unintended result) drug dealers. None of which have any agenda what so ever to skew facts to sell a product right? As a result we have a nation full of addicts, alcoholics, and kids on ADHD meds and Antidepressants. Because of the bad misinformation, nearly everybody in the united states is on powerful and addictive drugs, and most of the populace is unaware, or in denial about that fact.
As a result of bad information about the psychoactive substances we're paying to take, a lot of people and families must deal with the misery of addiction, as well as a host of long-term bad side effects and psychological distress caused by being on a drug that an individual really didn't need how many families are ruined and torn apart over addiction and drug induced insanity?
Aside from criminals without ethics, and the most corrupt elements of our society, who exactly benefits from our current drug policy?

  8. Dear Mr. President,

Why do you hate us so much?

  9. Dear President whomever of the corrupt bought and sold two party system who happened to win this election as a result of lesser of two evils voting by a disenfranchised constituency....

We know what you are doing. Eric Holder was cleared of charges, but it is very apparent that the flow of drugs into this nation and the world under the policy of prohibition is to the financial benefit of society's most elite members. Banks such as HSBC, the world's second largest bank, among others, have been laundering billions only to turn around and pay their fines of a few meager millions of dollars. Oh yes, that will teach them a lesson, won't it? Will you go back to Congressional approval and funding of wars, or continue your black market funding of black ops via the drug war? We know wars have been waged throughout history pushing prohibitionist agendas for financial gain. You aren't fooling us.

We know the U.S. government has PATENTS on cannabis as a medically-applicable and vital drug for a myriad of diseases. We know you are just waiting for the right time to select your corporate partners for this endeavor, if you have not already. Meanwhile, you cite Federal law as an appropriate excuse to deny people life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and physical well-being. We know the score. Do you hate sick people this much? How are you different from the tyrants of history?

We know our rights are being squandering under prohibition, Mr. President. The Constitution still means something to us. Our enumerated rights still mean something to us. Our system of government, NOT the United Nations or any other multi-national treaty organization, is how we wish to be governed. And governed by those who are true to representing the people of the United States. We know the Supreme Court has financially shut us out of our electoral system with your blessing.

We know this prohibitionist endeavor, folly. whatever you wish to call it, does the opposite of "protecting the children." How can you say such things with a straight face while our youngest generations are saddled with criminal records? This is no laughing matter, and we demand you treat it as the serious issue it is as we are doing.

Mr. President, please save your speeches which include any mention of our freedoms, "The Freest Nation on Earth," etc. We know we have more prisoners than anyone else. Call them political prisoners if you will. We're tired of your duplicitous talking and actions. We're tired of the building police state. We refuse to live in fear.

Mr. President, have you looked around? The WORLD is angry at us. The people of America are angry. Know what's worst about that? We really didn't want any of this. None of it. You've done a wonderful job losing this generation and many before us. Why should we continue to listen to you? All we hear are lies. Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve gives TRILLIONS in secret bailouts to your corporate and banking friends. What are these rich people going to do with their money when the world is destroyed?

Mr. President, there is no lack of persons who are aware of these issues, and are demanding answers. What will your response be this time? Start with an easy one-
succeed from the U.N. Single Convention Narcotics Treaty. It is not Constitutional. It's the least you can do.

  10. dear president,
please inform the country that all other political parties are repressed due to your abundance of wealth in your political party. lets allow the population/representatives to decide, and not the money.
    from,
1 of the millions who doesn't have a say in your policies

  11. I'm not sure which is more comical here...

...the thought of our Government simply walking away from hundreds of billions in tax revenue streaming in from Big Pharma/Alcohol/Tobacco, keeping in mind alcohol and tobacco maladies actually feed Big Pharma revenue too...

    or...

...the concept of the head puppeteer actually having a say in any legalization effort.

  12. our laws stipulate that the POTUS has the authority to unilaterally re-schedule any drug.

  13. Lobbyists: Fuck your laws. (opens drawer labeled "chump change"). Here's another billion in political funds, now STFU and do as I profit.

(Like I said, it's comical thinking POTUS has a say anymore...in anything...including even war.)

  14. What's even funnier is the notion that he even cares.

  15. The end of the depression was in the late 1930s not 20s....

  16. The Great Depression started in 1929 and ended 1933...
