I knew I shouldn't have left my phone on the microwave. Can anyone guess the technique I used to create this? ------------------ Video games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pacman affected us, we'd all be running around in dark rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music. Is that really the shape of the phone, or did you edit the picture? I can't imagine being able to do that to a real phone that was normal in shape to begin with. Wouldn't heating it up damage the insides? All right! I'm eager to know.... how did you do that? It's got a left-hand curve... are you a lefty? This would be ungainly to use on your right ear, wouldn't it? ------------------ Peace [This message has been edited by budburner (edited January 17, 2001).]
That is not the shape of the phone. I did not edit the picture in any way. (hint: flatbed scanner) ------------------ Video games don't affect kids. Hmmmm. My guess: A picture of this phone was put on a flatbed scanner and was moved while it was being scanned. It would take an incredibally steady hand, though. Weird... are you going to give any more hints? ------------------ Peace
You almost got it bud. I removed the lid of the scanner. I then taped some white paper to the back of the phone. I place the phone on the flatbed and started a scan. As the scanner moved across the phone, I slowly rotated the phone. It does take a steady hand. If I had a steadier hand it would look better. If you notice, the edges are choppy. This was only my second try at this technique. My first try was with a marker. It didn't look good because I left the paper backing off and it scanned the rest of the room. Not pretty. ------------------ Video games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pacman affected us, we'd all be running around in dark rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music. Well, I was bored.. so I took your cellphone image and decided to modify it a bit... In this image you can sense the true-emotion the cellphone was going threw while getting scanned! It was hurt, used, and mocked. REMEMBER CELLPHONES HAVE EMOTIONS TOO AND THEY WILL GIVE YOU CANCER IF YOU DON'T RESPECT THEM! Enjoy.
