  1. Hi this is my first time trying the autos I have three northern lights x big buds They just went into week two I’m running a 4x4 grow tent lights are two 1000 watt gixers led with both switches on and one mars hydro ts1000 I have them in fox farm happy frog soil my rh stays 60-70% my temp stays 70-80 degrees so far I’m using no nutrients two of them are doing great but one is taking a turn for the worse it was staying small not catching up with the others now today it’s starting to drop and it’s a lot darker green then the other two any input would be greatly appreciated

  2. leave ya temp gauge at medium leaf height, I use a stack of dvd's to hold in place

leave for 30min .. return and adjust the light to get 75F, once you got it mark it with tape etc

now you light is set for that light for them plants at that distance from the light

    a small fan will help

note: I always advise growers add 30% perlite to any Fox Farm stuff,

add more perlite if you intend to fed your plants their own nutes, Fox Farm is hot stuff

    good luck

  3. Thank you very much just seeing this they ended out turning out pretty well for my first go around

  4. Definitely was a heat and soil issue learned a lot though the extra perlite is a really good idea wish I would’ve seen it sooner

  5. so the first plants look good .the later shots the brown and yellowing leaves are from high salt EC in the medium. It inhibits uptake of other nutrients .in high EC it canock them out completely.
an easy test is over water a test plant and measure the first waste water than comes out. if 4he ec is more than 2x the input ec that is definitely an issue . if the input ec is 800 .it should run about 1200 ec on the waste . if it's 1600 or more flush with half strength solution until EC on waste drops .4hen continue watering as normal with a 15 % over flow to keep EC in medium down

  6. Looks good bro.. good grow.. maybe some heat stress.. the yellowing start early or late flower? If Late flower ,it's normal and encouraged.. curious what stage they started yellowing off.. was there any amendments added with your foxfsrm@

  7. That’s what I was wondering it was in the last four weeks started with a few by the last two there was barely any green leaves at all and as far as the nutrients I used 1/4 strength the recommended on the fox farm chart that was giving me what I thought was a nitrogen toxicity still not sure if that was the cause or if the starting soil itself was to hot but I lowered to to a 1/8 strength from recommended after flushing and it seemed to fix the problem definitely investing in ppm and ph reader this next go around

  8. Also there was heat stress in the beginning but I rigged a a/c unit to the tent and fixed that

  9. the yellowing was from high of EC in the medium .
the high ec created nutrient lockout , locking out present nutrients but displaying symptoms of various deficiencies, in this case nitrogen and potassium.
easy test is just over water and test waste ec

  10. So say I had ran the test and seen the ec was to high and it was already doing the nutrient lock out how could I have fixed? Just flush till it’s reading under 800? This is only my second grow I’m still learning a lot

  11. if you are feeding a proper 12 mineral feed solution It WILL NEVER be deficiency.
it will 90% of the time be too high EC in the medium causing lockup and presenting different false nutrient deficiencies.
the only other reason there could be deficiency would be root rot . ph is rarely the answer as most people grow in some type of sphagnum moss or soil mix . these mediums have so much carbon and buffering capacity it wound take an awful lot of acidity or alkalinity to change it outside extreme rates. the ph of a solution may favor one mineral over other at different rates but it does not just cut it off .its like +/- 10 or 15% . not nothing.
5.5 to 7.5 is a very reasonable spread. most things stay in the 6's

  12. you should be monitoring your waste out out EC just as much as you monitor the feed .
this will tell you what is in th4 medium .
medium should be 25 to 50 % more than feed .
800 feed 1200 waste overflow by 15% each watering to maintain level
the ONLY solution to a toxicity or deficiency or salt lockup is the same ...flush 4h4 medium with roughly 2x thr volume of the medium with fresh solution.
push out the old and replace it with new .

  13. Makes sense thanks

  14. Learned my lesson I need to be watching the run off and water I’m putting in feeding I thought as long as I used lower amounts of nutrients and didn’t see any issues I’d be fine

  15. yeah that does seem like it makes sense but you need to get rid of the bad before they get the good lol
