One Fan For Exhaust And Light Hood

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by highscores, May 20, 2013.

  1. Is it okay to run one fan and pull air out of the room and through the light hood with it? I have a Y shaped aluminum duct. I connect one duct from my hood to my exhaust fan to pull cold air through pass the light. I leave the other end open to pull air out of the room. I have a 12" intake hole for fresh air. Is this sufficient?
My room is 8 ft x 8 ft x 7 ft. Exhaust fan is up to 400 cfm. Light is one single 600w but will sometimes be a 1000w hps

  2. You should be ok with that setup. I run just a single 400cfm on my 1000w and its been fine. I don't have the Y shaped ducting though, just a straight run of hood>>>duct>>>>fan (attic). Just bumped up to 100% from 750w yesterday and it feels about the same.
