On Dogs and Life

  1. My proverbial thought of the day:

I find myself wondering a lot what it's like to be, say, a dog. Upon thinking, I keep coming back to the same point: dogs can't play games, drive, go to the movies, anything we can do and love to enjoy. They do the same few things every single day. In conclusion, I would have said it sucks to be a dog. No fun.

After contemplating for a second this time, I realized something. What is the point of OUR human life? It's not to play games, drive, or go to the movies. It's about being happy. Doing what we want to do in order to find that happiness. Looking back, think about that dog. Dogs are always happy. Dogs may only do the same few things over a million times in their life. But they are happy every minute they walk down the street, eat the same damn food every day, or ride in the car. With the true purpose of our life in mind, would it not be fair to say that it would be more preferable to live as a dog?

  2. I'd rather be a cat or dog that is loved.

A stray? I don't think so. An animal kept in a cage? Nope.

My dog goes everywhere I go. He's taken 3000+ mile road trips, he always goes when I go to a pet store that will allow dogs inside. He never wants for anything. My GF's dog is his best non-human friend so he gets to hang out and do dog things with another dog almost every day.

Hell yeah, I'd rather be him. He gets to sleep all day. He has no responsibility. His life is all about fun.

My neighbor has two dogs that have been inside a cage for their whole life. They don't know human contact or compassion. They are possessions. Neglected possessions. They are fearful of everything and everyone.

I would rather be dead than to be one of them.

  3. loved dogs are living the life. pets, treats, walks... make them so FUCKING happy. so happy they cant sit still!

id love to be a loved dog. i dont know if id rather be that over a human, even though humans are probably less happy in general

  4. Yeah, but the dog can't smoke weed though can he? ;)

  5. True, he can't. But with this philosophy, the dog does not need weed, nor does he want it. He is unconditionally happy without it.

  6. True, but I, for instance am totally happy without weed in my life, it just adds that extra spice. You know what I mean?

  7. Hm... VERY interesting...

  8. dogs eat shit...screw that.

  9. Humans on Earth, they live very different lives.

Some sleep in houses, some sleep in tents, some sleep in caves, some sleep in the jungles.

Some live in the city, some live in the countrysides, some live on the streets, some live in the forest...

Some eat rice, some eat pork, some eat rats, some eat worms.

    -------------------

    Same with dogs.

Some dogs sleep in houses, some sleep in tents... some sleep in caves... some sleep in the gutters.

Some eat dog food, some eat human food, some eat shit.
