I have this growbox in my closet that is made out of wood. For the lights i am using the top part to an aqurium and i got a pretty strong fan going in there. I have 1 plant. Also there is a blanket on top of the box. IM just wondering if im asking for a fire. idk why but i just OCD on thinking about coming home to my house up in flames. I cannot move this because it is stealth and i dont want my roomate to know what im doing.. So my question is if my light fell or something happend how easily could a fire start>?? Or can light against wood not start a fire. this is probably a rare question but a fire could have started from this somewher. SO i just need ur input on if u think i should do something differently..>?
I think it would take a pretty long time, if the wood could even start on fire at all, just from a hot bulb touching it. Only way i see it catching fire is if there is some sort of finish like lacquer that is much more flammable and could accelerate the wood catching fire. i don't have any experience with this, but i've read that some hps and mh bulbs can "explode", but i don't know what that means, or what the consequences might be.
If your worried about it, although the chances of it may be slim, the worry will eat u. I had a bunch of plants in my back yard and didn't realise it but was very stressed and paranoid about someone finding out. It's better u change your setup so u feel safe leaving it while out of the house.
