After reading this thread last night about a guy who thinks hes been having seizures that present themselves as panic attacks, I'm worried that I might be having seizures after smoking. For the past few weeks I've been having anxiety whenever I blaze, and then panic attacks (or what I assumed to be panic attacks) but I looked up seizures and some of the symptoms of "mini" (simple partial) seizures are so close to panic attacks that I think I might need to stop smoking and get an EEG to make sure. The problem of course being that if smoking cannabis is my trigger, I will not be able to do this for medical reasons even under the supervision of a doctor. A doctor would just tell me to stop smoking and thats it. Does anyone have any idea what the chances are that I've been having seizures and not panic attacks (as I originally assumed) after smoking? I'm not going to smoke for at least a month, and consult a doctor.

  2. When you have a seizure, I think you would definitley know, and it would scare you to not smoke like you do for as long as you have. I have the same thing brotha. I get panic attacks with certain strains, or if I smoke too much. I get twitches all over my body. I can see how you can think it's a seizure, but really that's the panic attack controlling your mind TRICKING you thinking you are actually having one. It's actually one of the symptoms of a panic attack when you have small twitches ect.

You could be having seizures, but I doubt you are since you are predisposed of panic attacks. You are just freaking yourself out man.

  3. I hear you man, but check this out. Simple partial seizure - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Some of the symptoms of one of those are so close symptoms of panic attacks. Its too close for comfort.

  4. hmmm. that's interesting. I don't think I have that, because when I do have an anxiety attack, I can't remember them really at all. It's all really a haze. Which contradicts one of the symptoms of a partial seizure. I know anxiety runs in my family, so I am fairly certain I have general anxiety disorder.

Do you smoke in groups/with a friend usually? Do they tell you if it's noticeable or not?

If you are thinking you have seizures while high, I would quit smoking for a while man. Although I have never heard of this happening. I think you are having an anxiety attack to be honest. But better safe than sorry.

  5. I usually smoke alone actually. Maybe being with others would help. I guess I do need to quit smoking for a while, even if its just for the anxiety. Its getting to the point were I can't even smoke with getting at least some anxiety. Anxiety also runs in my family.

  6. yeah try smoking with others and see how that works out. You will most likely grow out of the anxiety over time. My dad used to have really bad anxiety, now he is completely out of that state. Never took any pills or anything.

  7. so the solution is to not smoke weed...or not be such a damn nervous wreck when you smoke

    fucking Dr. iiLLmatic here

  8. Easier said than done on both counts.

  9. not really

  10. I'm not even gonna get into it. Unless you have the fucking key to unlock total piece of mind and alleviate all anxiety, I don't want to hear you belittle my problems.

Sorry to sound like a dick, but I'm pretty frustrated right now. Weed is something that used to be so fun for me, now it leaves me feeling like shit. I don't really consider "just stop being nervous" usable advice. Seriously, how is that supposed to help?

  13. it is as simple as don't be nervous, you control your mind

nobody on here can tell you how to control you nerves, because nobody here knows what gets you like that. thats something you have to figure out

  14. What are your "panic attacks" like... I almost got medicated for mine but decided to just take the natural route and change my diet and a lot more exercise... They phased out about two weeks ago.

  15. It's as simple as don't be nervous? It goes a lot deeper than that.

  16. It doesn't feel that way sometimes. I've tried everything I can think of short of pharmaceutical intervention. You've clearly never had a panic attack. You can't just "turn them off."

  17. finally someone gets it :hello:

im prescribed klonopin, and for a reason.. i know a little something about anxiety

  19. I also get nervous about half the time I smoke pot. The other half of the time, I can't close my mouth because I pour every single thought I have out at people. Probably has to do a lot with strain. I have also had an anxiety attack before on pot(several times). I've never had seizures before but anxiety attacks are STRONG-- ie for something that is in your head it sure feels physical. Can't stop shivering, persistent fear, desire to vomit, heart racing very fast.... you feel like you are going to die. In any case, go see a doctor. Hope this gave you something you can compare your experience with.

  20. Generalized anxiousness, feeling of dread/impending doom, bizarre chest sensation, shaking, shortness of breath.
