Sometimes I just sit and think about people from my past. The good times and bad and I think about how far apart we've grown. How we lead completely separate lives now. Excuse me, there's some sort of liquid coming from my eye.
i hear that. i've had friends that i thought i'd have forever. all it takes is a little distance, to fall out of touch for a short while, and they're gone forever... kinda lets you know you weren't as close as you thought...
Thanks to fackbook Iv gotten in touch with lots of old friends. At my age its shocking to find out how many are dead. Feels a bit spooky, I better be good or Ill be with them. No more eating like a king.
Nostalgia, as pleasant as it can be actually means a negative hindsight. Remembering the good times is bitter sweet. Time to make newer and better memories, so you can look back on those and feel bad again.
Honestly, I don't want to end up with time to sit around just to think about the memories I make from here on out. I have no desire to live a long life if the final 10 or 20 are spent as a second rate citizen. Cast aside because of age and unable to progress because of physical limitation. Unless i'm rich. Yeah man I'm the same. I was best friends with this guy for like 8 years and after high school he moved away for Uni. Kinda just grew apart and slowly stopped speaking. Not spoke to him in like 2 years and since I don't have Facebook/twitter, I'm clueless as to what he's doing now. He was a cool kid too. I miss my friends from hs everyday. As soon as i got married i stopped hangin out with them because of work and taking care of my family. I talk to them a bunch but never get to see them. Having moved away from them doesnt help. We made plans to see each other this july though so im excited for that..
I moved around a bunch as a kid due to my dad's job, so I was always having to lose friends and make new ones because there was no Facebook and who writes letters and my parents would never take me to visit. But now it seems like I had been in such a pattern that I can't really keep the same friends for more than 4 years without really trying. Not sure what your age is but I have the same thing happen with people from my high school. Seems the class of 74 had a lot of people die in a car drunk. They had a list of names that have passed on and last I saw it we were up to 3 pages. Maybe I should try and make our 40th reunion this year. In my life time I have had exactly 3 guys that were close friends. Lots of sunny weather friends. The three are still my friends. I don't get to see them often but we do call each other once in a while and send xmas cards and stuff.
