Old Flask, Lots of Booze, strange though should I drink it?

  1. So I found this stainless steel flask in my grandmother's old house shes moving out of and inside a droor there is a steel.... 6 inch tall flask full of what smells like bourbon but tastes and burns like its tequila or streight vodka.

Also when I poored it into a shot it was a diluted light brown transparent color, doesn't look attractive but doesn't taste to terrible either. Also inside the shot is these tiny little brown specs floating arround like goldschlagger or maybe just specs....

Drink it? Or not drink it.... I don't think age effects bourbon?

  2. If its a spirit, the level of alcohol being higher, usually means that they remain good to go for longer.

    Your body, dannymueller, not mine...

    Have fun

  3. Hah yes of course. However I am just curious as to how bourbon holds up in a flask... and if transparent brown liquid with brown specs is safe... or any warning signs lol, I've had two shots and im, just... ok..

  4. How was it sealed, screw top metal flask?

  5. I'd drink it :p

My grandpa recently passed away and, when we were going through his house, I found an old mason jar labeled "Tennessee smooth sipping whiskey" (he was a police sniper in Arkansas like 15 years ago) but the liquid was completely clear. Took a sip and almost died. I can only assume its some confiscated moonshine lol. 3 shots got me drunk :D

Best of luck with your mystery liquor.
