Okay, wtf is wrong with me?

  1. Okay, so im almost 20, and ive smoking for about 2 years, feels like ive been smoking forever though, First thing i have to say is im suffering from Derpsonilzation, like most people, And about a month ago i used to get Panic Attacks regularly when i was sober.

    Ive, gotten better, i never get panic attacks much, i still get the feeling here and there. But basically..

    From like, the summer of 2010, to like the end of October, i was smoking about a Quad each day. And i experienced a Panic Attack on NOV 7.
    Ive had about 4-5 before this, but there all spaced out and i usually just smoke weed 4 days after and im good.
    But then i started getting panic attacks sober, its been about a mounth and a half smoke free. But yesterday i took a puff off a joint, didnt even inhale. just put it in my mouth and blew it out.
    It was cold outside so i started getting the shivers, i went inside felt like i was going to get one, kinda. and it felt my Deperonsilzation went right up. Almost felt like i was high, it was werid , because i didnt even inhale.

    My question is, Why do i get all nervuse and Anxious when i toke? Before i had no problems, i really wanna start smoking again. :/ any suggestions thanks!
     
  2. Maybe smoking isn't for you... sadly. Can you tell me what you mean by a panic attack? and you smoked a quarter a day? Damn man. Hopefully someone here can help you, maybe the panic attacks are unrelated? See a doctor!
     
  3. Try to just calm down and relax when you smoke. Do something you enjoy...try not to just sit around and stare at a wall or the television screen thinking about how high you are.

    I have noticed a lot of people having this issue smoking after their teenage years are over. They get nervous, anxious and paranoid. I guess it really varies from person to person. I myself suffer from HORRIBLE anxiety and MJ seems to actually help it.

    Like I said though, try to enjoy your high and do something to get your mind off the fact that you are nervous. Don't obsess over whatever is making you nervous or giving you these anxiety attacks.

    I am not a doctor, nor a specialist of any kind...but that is what I would suggest.

    And yeaah, im going to smoke with my buddies and have a good time, hopefully that will work. I just dont understand, ive never really had this happen before.
     
  5. i've experienced some depersonalization/derealization as well. maybe a therapist could help you, certainly more than grasscity can. hang in there
     

  6. Ya i currenetly talk to one, all he tells me is not to do pot etc, but like he's never experienced panic attacks, or smoked pot. So he wouldnt understand, Like obviously he would. But not like personally, But they all say that.
    Id thought id ask you guys, because you guys have tons of experience, and may have useful infortmation
     
  7. It's all about your state of mind and your environment, man.

    If you believe you will have a panic attack, you probably will psyche yourself into a panic attack. It's that easy; I've done it before for experimentational purposes.

    It's just as easy to bring yourself out of a panic attack. You need to find the right words to soothe your mind. For me, telling myself that "since I was able to talk myself into a panic attack, I'd also be able to talk myself out of a panic attack" works great.

    Weed intensifies any feelings you feel, and the effect your thoughts have on your feelings.
     
  8. Yeaaah. Like i learned to say, Fuck it when im sober. But when i puff its harder to say that. Good point, man, i think about that.
     
  9. just remember you cant die frm the plant...embrace it let it hit you :) i usually play video games to keep my brain occupied while im toking

Ya to be quite honest, marijuana for me does the opposite, i use it FOR my anxiety and panic attacks, i seem to think if you are using it only for recreational purposes you tend to have a greater chance of having side effects like this, maybe not i don't know it just seems to be the going trend I see here look in this sub page alone theres prolly 4 or 5 threads of people freakin out about smoking....
     
  11. Just relax bro, my friend used to go through these panic attacks but it's because he was anticipating them.. He told me what helped him over come he panic attacks was that after smoking he would put some chill music on, headphones in, turned off all the lights, fan on high and after a few sessions his panic attacks went away and hasn't had them since.. Try it out.
     
  12. Well I'm not sure what's up with all that, but I'll tell you now, if you're smoking that much (a quarter) a day, I'd bet that's why you're gettign the depersonalization probably.

    Only smoke that much on special occaisons, or of course if you have rediculous ammounts of money to spend on pot.
     
  13. yaa, i play black ops yesterday, is weird lol. everything feels different, i did good though.

    And yeaah, i used it for my Anxiety, but then it turned around. its because i think to much and like, im the kind of person that thinks, and questions alot. Thats why, i try really hard to say 'fuck it'

    And yeaah , man ill defeinetly try that. Tahnks! :)
     

  14. Exactly, thats it. Its accually getting a bit better after my mounth break, im just going to wait it out. .

    Thats what im goiung to do, maybe once a week, or a couple tiems. :) Well try

  17. I've never had any anxiety attacks or anything similar so I can't really help ya out, so all I can say is good luck!
     
  18. It's all in the head, man. Same shit used to happen to me. Just get your mind around the fact that nothing is wrong and try to calm yourself down.
     
  19. Marijuana can cause some users to get all anxious and paranoid. I'd suggest to just smoke in a lovely place, like a springtime meadow when it's like 60 degrees outside. Just take everything in and enjoy it.

    But I know what you mean by depersonalization. I've had some "attacks" of it, but like 2 or 3. They don't happen anymore.

    I do sometimes have a feeling that I'm dreaming when I really am awake... Like things just happen and I feel like I'm dreaming. But this has happened way before I smoked pot, like 3 years before my Marijuana usage.
