Hello all. I've just started my 3rd grow under cfl's from unknown bagseed. The first 2 went well, and I learned that in my small growspace, I didn't need to veg for 8 weeks. Now I veg for 5-6 vweeks instead. My problem is that somewhere along the way, I misplaced a few of my 5500k cfl bulbs, so I decided to use some 2700k's in their place. I'm currently growing 4 plants, they are at about 5 weeks from sprouting. I began LST tonight. I'm using: 208-watts 5500k (8 26-watt bulbs) 272-watts 2700k (3 60-watters and 4 23-watters) for a total of 480 watts for 4 plants. I know the 2700's are for flowering, but I had empty sockets, so I figured more light was better, whatever the spectrum. (Incidentally, I didn't add the 2700's until the beginning of week 5, a couple of days ago). Soooo, my question is, will my use of so many 2700K watt's during veg harm the plants at all? would it be better to use less watts of all 5500 (with a couple 2700's thrown in)? Or, is it better to cram as much light as I can in there during veg, whatever the spectrum?
It will make more of a full spectrum im sure it will be fine, im in flowering now i have 9 2700k and 1 6500, also check this out. http://forum.grasscity.com/absolute-beginners/122824-kamels-cfl-guide.html
Yeah so how exactly do plants with more 2700k during veg turn out? do they stretch? stay low and dense? how do the 5500k work?
In all honesty i use 2700 all the time and only 2700never had any problems just personal experience do with it what you want .02
