Ok to grow without an inline fan?

  1. So I've gotten half way through my first grow without the use of an inline fan, mainly cause I didnt have the budget to include it. So far stuck a 6" clip-on fan to the top of my tent air hole to keep air flow moving,my lowryder #2 is growing fine no mold or anything negative has developed, but planning on adding 2 new babies into the tent...

Should I invest in an inline fan or just keep going with my set up?

  2. Where is the lighting????
Most in tent growers are pushing major lighting , therefore needing major ventilation .

  3. If you're on a budget I'd invest in upgrading lights as a priority first.

The fan will matter if you can't keep temps within range or if you're trying to draw more CO2 into the tent but lights are the most important investment. LEDs output the least heat generally.

  4. What do your temps and humidity look like? As Headhunterpipes said, some lights throw off a lot of heat. Regardless, fans will not provide fresh air for your plants. They will just move around the same stagnant air. If you're looking to save money, you could just use a passive system with no inline. Just exhaust fan will pull air from whatever room your tent is in if you have the bottom intake flap open. My 6" exhaust fan was less than $30. Short answer...yes...a proper grow room needs ventilation. You should definitely invest in an exhaust fan.

  5. You need a proper light and proper exhaust fan to remove the heat otherwise you're just wasting the money you have already spent and more importantly the 3 months it takes from start to finish
