    Started messing with oil pastels, haven't used em much. did these three the other day stoned in a bored daze.

  2. I love oil pastels, they are pretty unforgiving compared to chalk pastels, but the richness of the colours is so worth it.

  5. +rep for using oil pastels. i've been using them for years. I made the transition from colored pencil because I wanted those really bold and bright pigments for not a lot of money or mess. if you want to make those look like paintings you can blend them smooth with some baby oil or mineral spirits. depending on the paper you have them on.:smoke:
     
  6. I thought about smearing them, two of them are on actual canvas the other just on thick drawing paper.

    Just finished this 20 minutes ago, half oil paint half oil pastel crayon.

  10. There's a type of liquid you should get that allows you to blend oil pastels in a slightly more controllable way. I'm spacing on what its called though.
     
  11. I usually use mineral oil or linseed oil. Didnt on any of these though, I like the sandy look without it
