Electronic Arts' (NASDAQ: EA ) BioWare studio recently announced that its upcoming Mass Effect game, tentatively titled Mass Effect 4, was already in a playable state. BioWare Edmonton and Montreal general manager Aaryn Flynn commented on the project briefly on Twitter, stating that it was "Ambitious. Beautiful. Fresh but recognizable. And fun." Please help mass effect is life. http://www.ign.com/boards/threads/bioware-announces-that-mass-effect-4-is-fresh-beautiful-and-now-playable.453695939/

Sweet. Best game series of all time. Glad they.are continuing it Sent from my LG-E739 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Yeah I was aware of this. Mass Effect is a favorite of mine, but 3 didn't feel true to the series. Hopefully ME4 will make up for it..
I'd buy it too, I loved the series. Even ME3's multiplayer made up for the subpar ending. I suggest anyone who enjoys Sci-Fi to check it out. Not many games made me actually care about my squadmates. And the beginning of ME2 is probably my favorite opening in any game ever.
Even 2 was vastly different than 1, but story wise 1&2 were strong. 3 even had a decent story, it's just the ending felt like it tried too hard to be a mystery ending. Like I wanted closure and better variety of ending.
First one was the best and makes me feel all warm and nostalgic inside. Played the shit outta the first two. Sooo many different save games over the years haha. 3rd one was meh. Played through it once and that was it. Multiplayer was kinda cool, getting to play as the different aliens and customizing them n shit.
I only played ME3 but loved it. Love a good RPG I do. Looking forward to the new one, especially being as it's not centred around Shephard anymore!
Mass Effect: Rebirth (What Im calling it, as its pretty well established it will not be called 4, because that would imply it is connected to the Shepard saga) will either be the death of the series, or its Rebirth. I could see them stylizing it with Roman Numerals to differentiate (EG Mass Effect IV) Since EAware (Bioware no longer exists, it is a branch of EA), has shown it may actually finally be listening to fans, based on reports of Dragon Age: Inquisition, this may just be good enough to make people forget how badly 3 raped the series and its lore. Its either going to be set in the distant past, or distant future (or maybe even an alternate timeline) from the first trilogy, because of the aftermath of 3's diarreah vomit.... er I mean ending. Also, even though this goes without saying, they absolutely need to learn from the mistakes of 3, namely, no deus ex machina bullshit for an ending, bring back neutral responses, bring back some of the RPG elements so its not 75% shooter, and thousands of choices and possibilities (they absolutely need this, it cant be rigid, choosing a different action in quests needs to have visible ramifications, and quantifiable changes, not like how the series has been where the story is 90% set in stone) to show they actually care about the final product, and not raping their customers for all their time and money. On that last part, no more cutting stuff from game to sell as day one DLC. Oh, for PC players, I recommend downloading MEHEM, and forgetting that the Star Child ever existed.
Man, what the hell. I can see some of the stuff that you say happening, but there's not a chance in hell EA won't force them to strip 1/3 of the game into DLC. Fuck them, it's one of the main reasons (along with the re-dunkulous 50gb installation) that I won't be buying Titanfall. Can't trust EA to not try to screw you over with DLC. It's just natural law by this point in time.
Oh I know, because instead of actually refusing to buy their money grubbing shenanigans, people gobble it up. I just hope they have the decency to make whatever they cut small and remotely insignificant, and not fucking damn near vital to the story, like Javik was
I loved Mass Effect, up until the launch of the third one. Bioware just does too much to fuck with a game these days.
The only thing i really want from ME 4 is to go back to the more sandbox sidequest rpg feeling that one had. 2-3 felt way more streamlined and.linear. i want to be able to fly around the galaxy hearing what random crap aliens have to say. And doing all sorts of interesting side quests Sent from my LG-E739 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Word^^ After the huge success of number 1, they decided to streamline a lot of the rpg mechanics into a more Gears of War style shooter, in order to appeal to a larger, more casual audience, and thus make more money. Sound business strategy, but left a lot of us old school ME players feeling a little disappointed. Not that I don't love the series. Hell, even ME3 was great, minus the ending. So many epic moments.
