So this game is out.. similar to Diablo.. made by some of the same people who were in on D1 + D2, only 20$ on steam.. can't hurt to try it out.

Second game has cooperative play unlike the first game did.

I can hear the hints of Matt Uelmens music in the login screen, fuckin awesome lol.

  2. im extremely interested in torchlight but no one has actually sold me on it, so im leaving that up too you guys hahahah

only level 15 so far but thoroughly enjoying myself

a lot of the guys on the dev team were from d1+d2 so they know how to make a "real" diablo game.

the graphics aren't hardcore, almost cartoony but its not that bad... the loot is fun the monsters aren't retardedly hard but you can still die here and there

6 players max in a game

its more like diablo 2 in the sense you have a talent tree with skills that you can put 15 points into for a max, you get 5 stat points and a skill point everytime you level

each talent tree also has 3 passive skills, all of which are pretty nice.

theres also a "fame" level, you get skill points from that too

you gain fame from killing elites champs quests etc

you can play single player, multi player, or LAN.

theres 4 classes to choose from

    Embermage, Berserker, Engineer and Outlander

    Embermage is basically a wizard
    Berserker is a DW Warrior
Engineer is a hybrid of sorts, class I am playing.. you can be 2h melee, 2h cannon or sword and board.
    Outlander (Demon hunter)

    and its only 20$

  4. killed a random mob and it spawned a portal with an event and a mini boss

    this was the result

  5. Im onboard... be interesting to play a game were drops mean somthing..

  6. I just feel like ive put so much time in D3 lol, but this looks pretty good.

  7. anyone get it?

  8. I have it as well....

I think that it's the more "efficient" way to spend your money, if considering diablo 3 or torchlight 2.

For 20 bucks, TL2 is what D3 should have used for a baseline model IMO.

I've been playing Elite HC mode only, just so that the game has that survival feel to it, and I'm quite enjoying myself thus far.

    Borderlands 2 and Torchlight 2... That's all I need these days :p.

steam id: knobetta Add me if you wanna play, slay or just to bulldshit my blades!

  9. I just bought tl2 yesterday, already almost level 30 embermage, havin fun

  10. ive got it if anyone wants to play, honestly i think its better then d3 already and im only like level 20

  11. This thread should be titled "Official Get Torchlight II Thread"

Nice game, I started a engineer. What classes do you guy's play? I am also interested in the duel wielding gunner. Anyone play that one or berserker?

I can see the tl2 > Diablo 3 idea for sure. In terms of value for dollar at least.

However I'm still unimpressed overall. It suffers the same issues as before for me (I only play single player because of preference, so...) It's a tad repetitive feeling after a while. And after I get a decent set up I don't even feel like bothering to check and compare the gear that's dropped a lot of times. There's a ton of different gear, but so much of it offers so very little variance.

Decent game and all, and its a good value when compared to other games of the same genre. But it still leaves me feeling like the dungeon crawler genre is slipping off

I'm not even sure I'd suggest it. If all you want is single player then go with the first because aside from multiplay this version offers only a few improvements in my opinion. The first felt better to me overall... and really all the flaws that plagued the first are still in the second

Of course this is coming from a guy who only plays single. If you feel like you need MP then get the second. But even with the addition of MP in the 2nd.. it's only done so well. It could've been more developed. But with friends it gets the job done just fine

It's still easy as fuck. I only die when I end up not paying attention to my health or playing defensive. If you actively try to avoid death you likely wont die at all.

  13. Had TL2 and BL2 pre ordered. Both launches made life amazing!

  14. If dungeon crawlers aren't your thing, then TL2 definitely isn't for you. As for it being easy, were you playing on Elite?

I've also found that the single player is a lot easier than the multiplayer. I die more often in multiplayer because the mobs hit harder and are harder to kill.

  15. I just got the map room and new game+ for my first char, playin a embermage. Really fun

Me & a buddy posing for a screenshot in mapworks.

    Currently 58 Outlander

  17. Lvl 20 outlander here. I've played both this and Diablo 3 and i have to say TL2 is definitely better especially when you consider the price. Diablo 3 simply isnt any better than TL2.

  18. Does anyone still play torchlight 2?? The price was bumped down to $20 and it's 25% off right now so a bunch of my buddies got it. If anyone wants to get a gc game going post away.

  19. Been addicted to Binding of Isaac or I'd be on.

  20. just downloaded the demo from steam today. going to try it out now, heard good things about it
