  1. I'm really suprised that I couldn't find this with the search feature.

The Chili Peppers are by far my favorite band. Almost every one of their songs means something special to me.
By the Way is my favorite album of all time.
Most of the album seems to have been inspired from Frusciante and Kiedis's recoverys from heroin addiction. I have tremendous respect for both, because any hardcore drug addiction can easily destroy a person's life. I know too many people who lost/are losing that battle.
so many great artists were lost to addiction, Hillel Slovak, Kurt Cobain, Elvis, the list goes on. For Frusciante to recover and become the guitarist he is today really takes character.
Anthony Kiedis and Flea have been with the band from the beginning.
Kiedis is great at projection emotion through his vocals.
I have yet to hear a bassist that I can say is more talented than flea
Chad Smith's drumming style meshes perfectly with Flea and Kiedis' styles
Frusciante is one of my favorite guitarists of all time, and anyone who's a fan of The Mars Volta has to respect the Chili Peppers, because they pretty much made Frusciante into who he is today.

The current line up is Anthony Kiedis-vocals, Flea-bass, Chad Smith-drums, and Josh Klinghoffer on guitar.
Here's a few of my favorite songs by this band

The band Is off hiatus, and they're working on a new album set for release in 2011. I'm really excited to see what they produce!

Who else loves the Chili Peppers?

  2. Chili Peppers kick ass, Scar Tissue is one of the best books I've ever read as well.

  4. so sad about frusciante leaving but it not the first time, maybe he'll be back.

One of my all-time favorite reads was Anthony Kiedis' Scar Tissue. It's his autobiography, and man did this guy have an insanely interesting life. A must-read for any RHCP fan.

RHCP was the first band i truly fell in love with. I was in 5th grade and By the Way had just come out and i finally figured how awesome their work before it was.

Besides the obvious ones (like under the bridge or scar tissue) my favorites include:

    Quixotic Elixir
    Purple Stain
    Sir Psycho Sexy
    This Velvet Glove
    My Lovely Man
    Knock Me Down
    Walkabout
    If You Have to Ask

  5. RHCP fo' life.

  6. RHCP is one of the few mainstream bands i would kill to see live, too bad it wont be with fruiscante but they have had a few diff guitarists throughout the rhcp history

and like others have said, scar tissue is a great book..ive heard AK has relapsed again tho since he wrote that book

    high in amsterdam

  8. RHCP is one of the few bands i can listen to everyday and never get tired of, they have great lyrics and their overall playing style in unmatched in today's music imo. We play them all the time when we got out wakeboarding, everyone knows all the songs on the boat and we have some gnarly air guitar sessions ha i miss summer already, listening makes it better though :D.

  18. Everything except one hot minute was amazing

  19. Do you not like that album because Frusciante doesn't play? Dave Navarro did a damn fine job on that album. He is a stellar guitarist. His work with Jane's Addiction is unbelievable. It sounds like there are 4 parts going but when they play live every part is there. I have no idea how he plays a majority of his material.

  20. Navarro's style just doesn't mix well with the peppers imo. I agree he is a great guitarist, and Jane's Addiction is one of my favorite bands. And it wasn't just because of him. Kedis relapsing affected the songwriting a lot too.
