    are pots 7" high and 5" diameter large enough until i can tell the sex?

    Yes,
    They might take longer to get mature as compared to someone who steps up to a bigger pot but it absolutely, unequivocally can be done.

    yeah, easily enough. Like Vtec said though, bigger pots = bigger plants
