Odor!!

  1. Im a first time grower and im not sure how pungent a pot plant can be i know strains are a major factor but generaly speaking do they really reek? Worst case scenario how bad? Least case scenario get by with a simple fan and a brick missing in the cinder block wall near the ceiling of my boiler room?

  2. theres alot of factors here. airflow out of the room, size of the room and number of plants if ur just doin one or 2 plants the least side of things could be no smeel during veg and a lil more when flowring. or worst case could stink up the hole house if ur gonna remove a brick to vent air u should put a small fan and inline filter becuase so long as theres no other leaks in the room the vacuum effect of the vent will suck air through any cracks in ur boiler room door thus lowering the amount of smeel that gets pushed out of the room. and the filter u put on the inline fan will help to get odor down outside so no one gets suspicious.so if ur going stelah keep ur grow small, and low scented strains veg really wont usally produce much of a smell so if u using bag seeds or un-femed seedsthen u might wanna plan like 5 or 6 seeds to make sure u get one female.

  3. i doubt just a brick missing would do the job. you should probably invest in a carbon scrubber - those are the best bang for the buck odor removers.

  4. My seeds are local bagseed of some bud im pretty fond of. I tried germing about ten and got three to crack. This room is a total of 10x8x5 room with the boiler right in the center. Theres a silver hose with a dia. of 6in bringing in fresh air about a foot from the top (if i place my hand under it i can feel the flow but sometimes its almost non existant, i guess wind is an issue). Its a nice source of air though and i was wondering if it was possible to extend the hose from the upper wall all the way down to my babies. My real question though is could i place a small circular fan at the point where i make the extension to improve the air flow down the length of the would be exten. Im also thinking about placing a small fan in the cinder block hole itself and it would seem that this would make the circulation complete. It has a circ. already to keep the boiler room temps down im just trying to improve the original flow to benefit my plants with fresh air and moderate temps as well. GHETTO RIGGING being broke sucks but its my first time and id rather learn gradually than blow all my bills on exp. systems but a cheap filter would prob. be wise.
