  1. They say there gunna stay there for as long as it takes, even months.

  2. that's badass!

i hope the cops don't mess w/ them too hardcore.

  3. This is stupid. There was like 8 people in that pic.

  4. GooD!

  5. sounds like the rise of democratic socialism is beginning

  6. Its defiantly the rise of something

    Morning wood.

  8. It's over. Everybody is going back home.

  9. lol.. really?

    that's it?

shoulda gone on a weekday of they were only gonna spend a few hours...

  10. Well, there's absolutely nothing happening during weekends on Wall Street. It's not the center of business that it once was, before 9/11.

I'm guessing that the vast majority of them will leave before Monday.

It looks like the whole thing was very peaceful, which is not the way it was originally publicized to be by some of the more radical organizers - I'm just glad it turned out that way.

There's certainly nothing wrong with such a protest, and demanding changes for important issues, but this one had no common goal or direction.

  11. Reporter: "How do you feel about the protest that took place here on Saturday?"

    Broker: "Protest?"

A cool twenty says it will happen.

I kind of figured you were overhyping it.. "20,000 people, protesting for months!" turned into 15 people protesting for an hour and a half.

    Fail.

  13. Lol. Reason why it failed. From another poster on the general forum:

  14. Since they're not permitted to set up in tents on the streets for sleeping, they could stay at a number of hotels located in the Financial District. :D

  15. I wouldnt be too quick to say it failed yet, people are still staying in tents and who knows if people are gunna start joining them in the future.

  16. Those extreme right-wing LaRouche people, who are at the Occupy Wall Street event, wouldn't have lasted for five minutes at a 1960's or 1970's demonstration.

    Well, this is 2011.

  18. I've been watching ths morning's activities on liveleak. They marched down near Wall Street.

Because Obama is in town for a big United Nations meeting, and all of the media will be focused on that, this demonstration is not getting any attention from the news.

It looks like the cops let them go on one side of Broad Street, which is normally where pedestrians are allowed. On the other side of the street, employees are lined up behind metal barracades to show their ID cards to guards, so that they can go to work.

They keep referring to "Banks" - Wall Street is about the Stock Market, not banking, lol.
