Obama's new Attorney General wants to restrict freedom of speech on the internet

  1. I didnt vote for him.

  2. Those may be his personal beliefs.. it won't happen.

  3. We already have them...all over.

    So what's the (big) deal?

  4. Considering he is going to be working in the executive branch with plenty of powers bestowed upon him, it would be stupid to say something like that.

  5. Those sites do it out of not government regulation but because they are mainstream and do not want to be sued.

One of the allures of the internet is beyond child porn there is no government regulation.

One of the most popular sites I see tons of blades from grasscity on daily is called spaceghetto.net

One of the biggest allures of that webstite is there is no regulation just about except child porn. People post the crazy shit they find on the internet. Some of it is pornography, but not in the since that you would think about.

I remember someone found pterodactle porno and posted it, and I nearly fell out of my computer chair laughing. That is the allure of the internet which I would hat to see lost in regulation.

  6. Actually, there's a method to his madness. Unlike a lot of presidents, Obama cabinet is shaping up to be chalk full of people who have serious ideological differences with each other. It's a method Lincoln coined called government of rivals, which Obama has repeatedly said he greatly admires. Instead of a bunch of yes men or a group of ideologues who all agree with each other, government of rivals allows, in theory, most sides of an issue some air time at the presidential level. Obama, being intellectual (at least, compared to recent presidents) likes to hear most sides of an issue and as many facts as possible before making a decision. I, for one, approve. It's better than the current administration which ignores reality and distorts or fabricates information that supports its ideologies and policies, rather then forming policies around reality.

  7. Most of the people on Obamas cabinet mirror each other in political views.

George Bush recorded 125 on his IQ test BTW, not saying I agree with what he has done while in office but calling obama more intellectual is bullshit. Intelligence does not translates to ability to lead.

take your partisan thinking else where and stop predicting the future, I voted for Obama but I am disappointed in his cabinet.

  8. this article tells me nothing except that they will strive to maintain 'reasonable restrictions' on the web. inst that...reasonable?

  9. The people who put Obama in office would never let this happen.

Simple as that, if Obama wants to get re-elected.

  10. No, it isn't the government's business, period.

Granted, none of the things they are involved in are their business, but can't we at least try to keep this one last thing free?

  11. There are other restrictions other then child porn on the internet, computer trespassing, identity theft, provoking violence (When it clearly leaves freedom of speach), and some other things.

As for adding rescrictions that compromise the first amendment , now that is why I wanted Ron Paul.
Curious, how much power does Obama have over his staff once he is in office?

  12. first of all what is it? all i see is a 5 sentence article about basically nothing. there have been 'reasonable restrictions' on free speech since the first amendment existed, so why should it be any different for the internet.

  13. What about ability to read? I believe he failed that one too..:D

Well I will give you that one for this...Obama's inability to talk on the telephone might not allow him to stop this freedom of speech restriction on the internet to go down.

  15. gov should leave the internet out!
internet was one of greatest thing happen today cause it gives "real" news to people, and there more freedom in internet then real life...

if they dare to touch the internet, i'll square to god, i will go on killing spree

  16. there is already a thread about this. and just like i said there, ill say here FUCK THEM, they already got radio, tv, and all that.. dont give them the internet too!

  17. lol You definitely didn't vote for Obama judging from the threads you've started in the last three days alone. You're republican pandering is fing ridiculous. Anyways, I'm not predicting the future, where in my post do I do anything of the sort? Dumbfuck. Saying Rahm Emanual and Hillary Clinton mirror each other is borderline retarded. No, intelligence doesn't translate into ability to lead, but it sure helps. Oooo 125, woahmg so amazing. lol That's somewhat above average, but not by much.

Calling Obama more intellectual George Jr is fucking spot on. Man who leads the most powerful country in the world "from the gut" and disregards the constitution vs constitutional law professor and civil attorney that seems to at least listen to economic and military experts. Hmmmm

Take your mind boggling stupidity elsewhere.

No, Lincoln didn't coin the term, plagiarist Doris Dean-Goodwin did in her horrible book. Which you probably haven't even read, but only heard mentioned 10,000 times on the CNN or one of those Obama channels.

And Lincoln didn't even start the process, he is just the iconical presidential figure for moronic liberals to look up to because he, after all, ended slavery in the best manner possible. Monroe appointed Crawford sec. of state after their bitter 1816 campaign, John Quincy Adams appointed Henry Clay to sec of state after their rivalry in 1824, Polk and Buchanan in 1844, Pierce and Marcy 1852, Buchanan and Cass....

And don't forget 3 of the 4 of Lincoln's 'team of rivals' resigned in the first term.

It's not like Obama disagrees with any of his 'rivals' on any fundamental issues, they are only rivals during political campaigning. The method to his madness is using these coined terms to throw off his stupid supporters when they start to ask why he isn't hiring anybody that represents change. So he says they are rivals to keep his change at bay. Isn't that swell.

And you definitely voted for Hope/Change 08 given your pathetic political perspective (btw I think joints did vote Obama). Obama is just as disrespectful of the constitution as Bush, if not more so due to his belief that Supreme Court judges should be empathetic and thinking beyond the law when applying rulings to the poor and oppressed.

We have enough amature Obama dick suckers on here. I would rather see you leave, or at least show some respect to one of the 10 posters on here that actually know something about politics.

    kthxbye.

  19. Considering Barack Obama IQ is lower than George Bushes, I fail to see your point.

    Obama's IQ is 116.

Are we arguing common sense or how intellectual they are?

I think you are confusing the two, and yes I did vote for Obama, so lay off.
