I'm not trying to nit pick or be a dick or anything. I just don't like false information being spread as though it were fact. By saying for no reason, with no factual data that whites will be minority in 2020; you're sort of injecting this idea that white people are decreasing in number needlessly into the discussion. As I stated before, it is false and irrelevant to a discussion about Mr. Obama's health care ideas.
You and I probably would actually agree a lot if we talked about Obama's health care plan, actually. I don't like how vague Obama is about it in general and how he doesn't get into specifics about how to pay for the plan when we're already in such great debt.

    From that article you posted:

"Whites will still make up by far the largest number of Americans but not as big a percentage as they do now. The white population will shrink from to 78.2 percent, from 83.3 percent."

"Immigration and rapid population growth are expected to make people of Hispanic descent the nation's largest minority by 2020, totaling 51.2 million, or 15.7 percent of the population, up from 9.7 percent in 1993."

Isn't 78.2% of the population being white a majority? I am no mathematician but I am pretty sure
78.2% of the population being white in 2020 is greater than the 15.7% that will be Hispanic .

78.2 > 15.7, right? Math is a weak subject for me but I'm pretty sure my equation is right.

It says in that article you posted from 1994 that "Whites will still make up by far the largest number of Americans...". So white people are the largest number of Americans, yet Hispanics are the majority? Please quote from that article where your assertion that "Hispanics will be majority in 2020" comes from.
Once again, I'm not trying to be a dick, but did you even read the article you posted?

  2. The KKK called and they want their bigotry back.

My husband's entire family, and many of my friends live in Canada, and it's simply not true that they have long waiting lines for routine care.

That is a myth perpetuated by the right wing.

The rest of your racist rant isn't even worth responding too.

  3. WHO CARES???? And what does this have to do with health care?

Are hispanics less healthy then white people? WTF???

  4. What kind of surgery did you get when you fell off your bike?

It's the serious kinds, neurosurgery, treatment of vascular disease, hip replacements, etc. that suck in Canada.

You live in Vancouver, aren't they about to cut 6,000 surgeries from your health care plan?

  5. Perhaps you are fortunate. On the flip side of the coin, just because you happen to be so fortunate doesn't mean everyone in your country is.

Irregardless, how will we pay for this? Inflation. And I guarantee this inflation will hurt the poor and uninsured far more than the lack of insurance will. Sure, they might have health insurance (albeit a shitty one), but their money will be worthless.

It's another scam like Medicare and Medicaid. It's going to be just another entitlement program which spirals debt out of control. Sure, it might initially cut costs, but as the pouplation grows, so will the need for this program. So unless you feel that we should be introducing pouplation control, then I don't think this program is feasable.

  6. ???

How did you construe what that guy said as racist? EDIT: Okay, there was that little post about whites, but that is simply a statistic, not a racist comment. I don't think he said anythign specifically racist. And irregardless that doesn't change his main point.

Furthermore, maybe Canada is fine for routine care. Then again, America is pretty damn good for routine care too. I have absolutely no problems getting into my doctors office if I have the common cold. But what about emergency surgeries and major operations?

Yeah, but the US gets away with it by having the most retarded racial categories set by the census bureau. For example, hispanic or latino isn't considered a separate race, merely an ethnicity that can fall into any racial category. Sounds good in theory, because that is really how it is, if you define race by skin color, physical features, and area of origin. However, why the fuck is Asian considered a separate race? They really seriously categorize Pakistanis, Indians, Japanese, and Korean people into one racial category, when they don't look alike at all, have totally different shades of skin color, and totally different facial and other physiological features. Basically, the census bureau has fucked with the categories so they can manipulate stats. That way they can hide the stats that clearly puts hispanics as part of the minority by including hispanics in any race, and surprise, surprise, most hispanics fall into the white racial category!

Might want to look up who makes up the majority of that 46 million uninsured talking point your side constantly uses. Immigrants, young adults, and hispanics.

  8. Why would you want to give more money to a corrupt government? Keep the money in your hands. That gives you options. It sucks that everyone can't afford brain surgery, but do you really think your government will provide all citizens with it? Let's give more control to the establishment.

  9. Canadians like their health care.

telegraphjournal.com - Canadians favour their health care to American system: poll | Steve Rennie - Breaking News, New Brunswick, Canada

  10. Your inability to insure yourself, costs every person responsible enough to insure themselves:wave:

"Uncompensated care for the uninsured added $922 to the cost of employer-sponsored family coverage and $341 to the cost of employer-sponsored single coverage in 2005."-BCBS

We are trying to make health insurance affordable.

  11. Blame the corporations who recruit for illegal citizens because they don't want to pay American's legal wages.

It's not really fair to say we want them to pick our food, tend to our lawns, watch our kids, serve our food, and clean our homes, but then say "fuck you" if they get sick.

  12. The same percentage of Americans like theirs. Nationalism is a powerful thing.

Old people love Medicare... doesn't mean the system isn't bankrupt.

  13. It's not nationalism in our case... it's selfishness:

It's not really fair to say we want them to pick our food, tend to our lawns, watch our kids, serve our food, and clean our homes, but then say "fuck you" if you can't afford health insurance, now the government mandates you get it.

Oh, yeah, and them = me

Get back to me when I incur uninsured health care bills. Till then suck it. Or just keep QQing. :D

  15. No one wants to mandate that you get health care (unless you are a child).

I just think you deserve it.

I'm fine with you opting out of any universal or private health care plan. Just as long as you pay for 100% of any health care procedures you may need up front, so the rest of us don't get stuck paying for you.

  16. Sounds like a deal. ;)

  17. Thank you! Tons of Americans use our system as an example for showing that medicare doesn't work, and it just isn't true. If you need medical attention right away, you get it. I have experienced this first hand. The only time you end up waiting is when you are going for something not too serious, and honestly, half the people there who are waiting brought their kid in with the flu or some stupid shit. Basically if you end up waiting you should have gone to your doctor not the hospital.

  18. That's exactly how I understand the Canadian health care system too.

We have long waiting times here too.

Our uninsured often have no choice but to go to the emergency room for non-emergency care, and this creates longer lines for people who need it.

I just tried to make a dentist appointment for my son, and the earliest they can see him is in December.

  19. I'm not totally opposed to a socialist health care system, but our gov't would have to meet other conditions first. First of all, we're overtaxed anyway, and our spending has spun out of control. End the emperialist foreign policy, do away with the war on drugs, THEN address some of the rediculous government involvement in medical and insurance regulations. That last step would increase competition within healthcare options, which would lower the costs of insurance within many companies. Then we can talk about a "public option" (socialist healthcare). There is very much hope in a system NOT run by the government if we can correct our policies. However, it seems that many liberals are carrying a "socialist or bust" agenda here. Why not correct the serious flaws in our current system and see how that works out? There's no reason to believe that it wouldn't.
