Actually the United States was still in debt even under clinton's presidency. The difference is the debt has grown at a much much faster rate under the current president than previous presidents. Is it bad? yah it sucks but the thing is it isn't the same as going from a surplus to a defecit. We had debt under most U.S. presidents its just that it normally doesn't increase at the level it has under Bush. Ohh and you can thank Alexander Hamilton for giving us the idea that having a nation with a defecit can be a good thing.

You guessed it, Obama. But what the fuck do you really expect? Obama has his eyes on the prize. So does McCain. Obama can't look weak on foreign policy issues obviously. But if people thought he was a peacetime president somebody already said it, "you're not listening". But I think it's all bullshit anyways, the US is in no position for another war.
