When do they start going into the libraries with the black sharpies? War On Words: NYC Dept. Of Education Wants 50 'Forbidden' Words Banned From Standardized Tests « CBS New York
Got to agree. Although I do have to admit, at least it's only on their "standardized tests" it's not like they're these guys... Pakistan Text Message Ban Includes 'Homosexual,' 'Lesbian,' And Other LGBT Relevant Words
What in the actual fuck? I honestly don't think im going to have kids as long as i live in america. Fucking disturbing combination of insanely materialistic and self-absorbed lifestyles coupled with a rejection of all bad things that happen in life (see:divorce) and anything that might not be the same as someone else (see: Kwanza) this is almost funny
The list is just a suggestion made from standardized test designers who work in collaboration with the companies that make the tests in NYC. This is not a very good reason not to have children. (though, could be decent reasoning for not having kids in NY)
I know it's a suggestion for now, I read the article. This individual instance is not my reason to not have kids, it is the American system as a whole (not just education) which drives me to not have children here. another example Austin Carroll, Indiana High School Student, Expelled For Tweeting Profanity
Isn't that just real life. Why hide kids from these words or they will have a rude awakening when they are adults
Don't be so smug - there are banned words, images and topics on certain websites, even though these topics are frequently mentioned and discussed on all mainstream news and other media.
I dont no why people say they dont want to live on this planet anymore. Stuff like this makes it worthwhile for me.
Gotta admit, I thought this was gonna be an article in The Onion. I live in Canada, and I remember about 10 years ago I was in 4th or 5th grade, and we couldn't celebrate Christmas one year because there was ONE muslim family that had their kids attending our elementary school that made stink with administration. So it's like, everybody that lives here loses out on their cultural/religious holiday, for fear of offending the cultural/religious beliefs of others... It's a gross irony.
