Hey there! I'm new here at GC, and I thought I would open up a discussion about the new laws in New York State about this amazing plant we all love and cherish. I was hoping to open up a thread where anyone can ask/answer questions about legalization in NY, as well as post your thoughts and feelings about the situation! Thanks and keep tokin... P.s. I wanted to do a quick poll for fellow New Yorkers
Your cart's are expensive at 75$ for 0.5 gram cart but your flower is cheap compared to new mexico 35$ for 3 and a half grams is good. Ours in new mexico with lower cost of living and lower wages is 12 to 14 dollars a gram. The 50 for 3.5 and 90 $ for 7 grams is kinda crazy I'd just stick the the cheaper shit lol When we go recreational in April it'll have a 24% tax only 12% right now. So I'm sure we'll be right there with you price wise.
It's about $200/oz on the street for good flower here. Obviously some of us know better people and get better deals but that seems to be the going rate. About $30/gram for shatter or wax. We just passed the law to go recreational. They are guessing 18 months to 2 years before anyone will be able to actually walk into a dispensary and make a purchase. Thankfully I live close to a medical dispensary now, so hopefully it won't be that long for me haha

I actually wrote a blog post about NY legalization if anyone wants information about it. It’s Legalization Day! | Cannabis in Depth
If people will stick together and quit paying insane prices, they will drop. Cig companies have found ways around higher prices for years, Pot companies should have to learn this supply/DEMAND equations.
The demand is so high I don't see it happening. The only thing that will drive prices down is more competition in the market. Which will happen. Also I like to encourage more people to grow their own. Although it is difficult to grow super high quality cannabis. It isn't that difficult to grow mediocre cannabis. And by mediocre I mean the lower quality dispensary grade cannabis we usually see. But if you just start growing and learn more and more each time you WILL be able to grow those higher quality buds we all want to smoke. It really isn't THAT hard with a little initial investment and some effort Sent from my moto g power (XT2041DL) using Grasscity Forum mobile app
