NY gov cuomo wants to legalize it within 100 days of his new term

Discussion in 'Marijuana Legalization' started by mbajohn1990, Dec 18, 2018.

  1. MA has a 20% tax on rec weed, Cuomo has proposed 22% for NY, lol. I doubt Illinois tax will be that high.

  2. As we are well aware this never happened. We could blame Rockland and Suffolk counties. But, this was a campaign promise Cuomo was never going to keep. He is now stating he will NOT allow home growing. This man has always had the stance that he would never allow cannabis legalization. Why now? Illegal back door deals with the cannabis growers supplying the states programs.

  5. Those greedy f-ers are going to grow the black market. Stupid is as stupid does. California all over again. They have to realize they are increasing crime in the state with those tax rates not limiting it. Our mafia boss governor Cuomo made the statement of, if we allow home growing it will be to hard to police legal/illegal weed. Really? You mean tax legal weed. If legalization ever happens in NY state. The only ones that benefit from these high taxes are the corrupt politicians not the public in any way what so ever.

  6. They didn't allow home growing here, but it's a $200 civil, non-criminal violation if you grow 5 or less.

Medical patients can have up to five plants.

But you're absolutely right, Black Market going to grow huge now.

We've got Michigan to the north with way cheaper prices and I think they can grow like 12 plants?!??

. We have Missouri to the West with a medical Market it is just starting. The head attorney for St.Louis Prosecutors Office stated that they will not be prosecuting cases of less than 100 grams possession. And I'm right across the river from St Louis, im a Cardinals and Blues fan lol

And Missouri medical patients can grow up to 6 plants

So yeah, the black markets going to explode here.

Sorry it didn't work out for you guys, but I can tell you that hear from Illinois which is basically California 2.0. Legalization came and it doesn't feel very exciting at all

  7. With your civil penalty, do they take your grow equipment if your caught. Because that is where I lost. I had Timber cobs and qb boards. My set up.. I'm sure is now being used by our corrupt local police force. It's a standing joke that they can't grow worth a shit.

  8. I'm not sure on that, but from what I understand it pretty much takes an act of God to get a search warrant for anything cannabis around here. But that's just the county that I live in, the next County that's about 3 miles away from where I live is a totally different story. They were charging people who had concentrate with possession of a controlled substance instead of a civil cannabis charge. Total dickhead county cops, and they are backed up by dickhead judges. Im suprised they didnt declare themselves a reefer madness sanctuary city. So its just gonna depend on whos determining how its treated.

  9. Protect yourself and your friends. Read this: Constitutional Home Entry
A warrant is NOT necessary anywhere within the USA using this loophole law. In schenectady county they indicted a handful of officers last spring for using paragraph 9 within that law to break into and rob folks. Lucky for us there were several homes with hidden camera's that caught these crooked cops. The officer that busted me had transferred from that department right as those officers were being indicted. He used this very law to gain access to my home.

  10. I’m not a citizen of NY but I had better hopes for Cuomo with legalization. It would be great for our hopes elsewhere with so much of the media and such being based there.

Cuomo said in 2018, that he would legalize it within the fist 100 days of his new term, in 2009. Ten months later, still no legalized weed. I have a feeling, when and IF they ever do legaize in NYS, it will be too expensive and the underground dealers will still be here, and offer better deals.

  12. Their was mention of card holders for medical patients to grow. But, not recreational. I meet medical conditions, just cannot afford the needed proof to get a card. Can't afford a few thousand dollars for the specialist not covered by medicare. Our states medical marijuana program is for the poor on medicaid and the rich that money is no object. This is one of the reasons why I grew before getting busted. My sister is actually a LPN that certifies for medical marijuana cards. But, the law doesn't allow her to issue to relatives.

  14. Hopefully the public will turn up the heat with him.

  15. Massachusetts has zero quarantine time. Hmm..Maybe they need the lost tax revenue from out of state marijuana sales. Cuomo is losing NY state millions in tax dollars by refusing recreational marijuana sales and growing. He is NY's greatest virus, NOT Covid-19.
