  1. alright well i heard that eggshells can help put calcium and lime into the soil and raise the ph, so i wanna kno if theres any other shit i can find around the house and use as nutrients.

  2. used coffee grounds will acidify the soil. Leaf mold is an excellent soil conditioner. Ashes from your Bar-B-Que will add potassium. You can put dead fish in the soil to provide nitrogen.

I would advise against using raw kitchen waste because the decomposition actually robs nitrogen from the soil. We throw all of our vegetable trimmings, coffee grounds, along with egg shells, fish bones, lobster carapace, etc. on the compost pile along with grass clippings and leaves. Turn the pile every month or so to encourage decomposition and before you know it, you'll have a nice supply of organic nutrition and soil amendments to add to your garden.
