Was unable to locate any topics on nutrients so thought I’d create one. What nutrients is everyone running? Best for buck? I’m currently running the advanced nutrients trio with bud candy. I find advanced easy to use with there own app for feeding schedules and info on all the products Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Dyna-gro Foliage pro and Protekt. Foliage pro was designed as a cannabis specific nutrient. At 600 ppm it has every single things cannabis plant needs, all covered, in perfect proportion. As the plant matures it needs more P and Sulphur, and that is added separately with Magpro. The Protek t adds silica, and is hit and miss. you never know if silica will stick to a plant, but it makes for a very hea;thy plant if it does. But due to the high ph storage solution, it is best used in small quantities of around 100 ppm. Dyn- gro products are designed to work at approx 1 tsp/gallon, so that is what you are looking at buying. Always start with the 8 oz containers. They shake well and are dropper accessable. Then when you like it, you can refill with the cheaper qt or gal size. Whatever you choose, Calcium is the one cannabis need that must be addressed. Pot doesn't need much, but it needs it from somewhere.
I use the solid, 1-part fertilizer Greenleaf Megacrop from sprout to harvest in hydro. Version 1.0 with RO water needs some CalMag, so I use a little of that. Version 2.0 is said to not need even that. My opinion is that additional supplements are needless, often harmful, and contribute to the sick plant pictures we see every day. Greenleaf even comes out and says you need nothing else, but even they have been forced to offer popular, but unnecessary supplements to keep from losing business.
Used to use Dutch passion. They’re awesome but expensive. Now im on growth technology. Grow Bloom Scillica Pk14/15 And vitalink calmag+ (ca/mg/fe/N) folk avoid this one cos they’re scared of the N but I only use a tiny amount and it’s usually to treat iron def. using this product saves me needing a bottle of micro boost aswell. another very notable quality of growth tech is that I’ve experimented and it turns out I don’t need to ph them for coco as long as I don’t use the scillica. My water is 48ppm ph7.2-7.4 With nutes added (no scillica) it comes to ph6.8-7.0 for veg and bloom. I grow in coco and I realise this should be very bad and I’ve no idea why I get away with it but it grows em perfectly. Same for the Canna range. Still need to ph adjust when I use the reservoirs but in coco dtw or hempy style I can just mix it and go. Got a new ph meter at last so won’t need to do it again but at least I know it works for the next time it breaks on me lol.
Masterblend 4-18-38 Silica (protekt, calimagic, etc) Flower Fuel (flower and cloning) For $35 the Masterblend will make over 2500 gallons of feed so it’s the cheapest I’ve found. It’s a three part powdered nutrient so you can manipulate the N-P-K of your feeds by increasing or decreasing the amount of each ingredient. I still have some after over 2 years, though I have been growing organically for about 6 months. Flower Fuel provides an even P and K rating. Perfect for use during mid flower and on. Homemade organic living soil is where I’m at now. Learning KNF and finding it very interesting to source nutrients and bacteria from my own kitchen or backyard. It costs a little upfront to build your soil, but being able to chop a plant and throw the next one right in is great. I can reuse the soil over and over, all while it gets better with age, making it another cheap option Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
