Nutrient Loss from plants....please help

  1. hey everybody... my girls are acting funny and not sure if this is normal or not so i would appreciate your input. This is my first grow so i'm not sure what to expect here towards the end.

    My setup:
-400W sodium in air cooled reflector
-homemade bubbleponic 27 gallon reservoir w pump for misters filled to 6 gallons
    -inside 2'x3'x6'H cab.
    -reservoir temp. high(day) 78 F Low(night) 72 F
    -int. cab temp. high(day) 88 F low(night) 68 F
-two girls -unknown cali. seeds, indica looking with strong citrus smell on buds
-into 6th week of flowering, 1/3-1/2 of buds have changed to brown pistils
-using technaflora starter kit at 1/2 strength followed exact recommendations, keep PH at 5.8

The problem is...for the last 2-3 wks, I flush, add fresh nutes at 1/2 strength, record EC and PPM and then everyday after these levels creep up. I also noticed the leaves are changing to lighter green and lower leaves are yellowing. They look similiar to N deficiency. I know my temps are too high but I am having a hard time keeping temps down.

Is it normal towards the end of flowering that the plants are putting out nutrients or is it the temperature problems i'm having with the cab. and res. that is causing the outflow of nutrients or is it the nutrients?

    thanks for your input

  2. Hey,
SO first off, It is very normal towards the end of flowering to see signs of (N) deficiency. The bloom ferts. have very low levels of (N) so naturally they tend to get a little low. If you're at six weeks though you should be fine. This is the time to start checking your trichromes with the microscope. You're almost there!! Fuck ya! let me know if there's anything else.
    Peace.

  3. Oh! also get that temp down!!! just open a window or something, add another fan, keep cold water in the humidifier, mist around the plants with cold water, but not on the plants. Open two windows?

  4. Run your lights at night. Should solve the heat problems. Get more airflow. Keep the door open to the room at night, close it for the dark period. Even 6 hours of door open cures the heat problems because it stops the prolonged heat exposure. You can give your plants 110 degree heat for an hour and they won't blink an eye, but long exposure is what kills them.

Also, if your PH is creeping up everyday and the nutrients are going UP, the plants are not putting out nutrients, just not using them and only drinking the water and that is why the PH is going up.

I'd say you need to feed them water ONLY for 3-5 days. They will improve. Sucks that you are on week 6 but I think you are nutrient locked. I just nutrient locked and killed about 75 beautiful ladies in one of my rooms. I was trying a new method and was away for a few days and came back to a bad room.
