Nutrient calmag magnesium epson salt organic . How much ???

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by bryan oconner, Nov 16, 2021.

  1. So i bought this . It says how much to throw into the soil.
I have to think i can convert it into water feeding as well. How much per gallon ?
I hope this post has a few replies lol . If you have any experience making your own calmag please share . We can figure it out .
Why i bought this is for the reason i do not want to buy premade and spend 100s on it . I am doing 100 gallons of water in a hydro grow . I always use cheap home made nutrients with excellent results .
I watch other farmers spend boat loads on those 5 gallon containers part A and B. When i use 7 dollar nutrients . Now for this if i were to use soil i could just put a few teaspoons in good to go.
But am mixing it with water to feed .

No matter what thanks for the help .
Edit the back of the bag shows everything as in ingredients .

  3. Yeah the cost is why I went to MasterBloom Combo. Hundred bucks a year or less.
    I'm interested in this, subbed.
    Good idea Bryan

  4. I still have zero clue . I will have to guess teaspoon per gallon. Then let them grow . I can easily keep a close eye on them and see if it needs to be adjusted .
This is really a trick question. Depending on the water source it might not be required at all . I ahve clean city water with to much bleach in it . You can smell that bleach in the morning brushing your teeth makes your hangover worse .
Basically if your reading this hydro requires minerals . Your soil already contains them. No need to worry about it. Unless anybody corrects me and says hey idiot not a teaspoon per gallon that is where i will start. No worries i do not have all my eggs in one basket here lol.
If i see them having issues i know i can post pics on here for
(HELP MY PLANTS ARE TOTALLY SCREWED) I do not know what i did wrong OMG ! LMAO ..

    So just did some calculations,

in your lime product there is 230,000 ppm of Calcium and 100,000 ppm of Magnesium.

If you mix 1/2 tsp per gallon,
you will get a solution of 149ppm Calcium
you will get a solution of 65ppm Magnesium

If you mix 1tsp per gallon,
you will get a solution of 300ppm Calcium
you will get a solution of 130ppm Magnesium

If you mix 1tbsp per gallon,
you will get a solution of 899ppm Calcium
you will get a solution of 391ppm Magnesium

these ppm numbers above can be greater when mixed because a) there will be other elements that will contribute to ppm readings b) the numbers given on a ‘minimum analysis’ is the minimum % of the ‘x’ element listed.

these ppm numbers above can also be lower when mixed because it may not have completely dissolved in the water

    Hope this helped

Fuck climate change, it is what it is.

  7. a typical run is 200 ppm calcium nitrate and 100 ppm epsom. But you need some iron to keep them from falling out. If you mix together and let sit, the precipitate will fall to the bottom and you can skim the bulk of the good liquid off. The Jacks formulas already are ready to combine with calcium and epsom and they all contain a small amount of iron. So does liquid Botanicare Calmag.
