Nutrient burn?

  1. I have been reading for about two days now trying to figure out my problem with the leaves. I have almost narrowed it to nutrient burn so I thought I would ask you guys. Check out the pics and let me know if thats what it is. Thanks a whole bunch!:) Sorry for the blurry pics (its a camera phone). The plants are in an indoor hydro setup 24hr 400W MH, using GH Flora Series nutes (3 tsp/gal of gro 2 of micro and 1 of bloom) 17 gallons of water. Plants are fairly young. Temp is constant 80 degrees with ventilation. If it is nute burn can I just leave it and wait longer to change out the reservoir?

  2. What is the pH and PPM?

  3. sorry i forgot to mention that. ph is 5.8 but I have no idea what the PPM is. What would be to much? A PPM meter is on the way as we speak.

  4. It depends on the age of the plant and the strain. 1200-1400 ppm is generally the highest they can tolerate at full maturity. Strains like White Widow take much less.

  5. Hmm. These are big bud and misty strains. So would the ideal range be about 1100. These plants are about a month and a half old.

  6. 1 get a CF meter
2 over fed it young plants require 1 3rd of the full dose :smoking:

  7. Ok so heres an update. I cut back to the general use mild formula that is on the back of the Flora Series bottles (1tsp/gallon for all three) and the burning seems to be subsiding. So I can reasonably say that nutrient burn was the culprit here. I will keep you updated. By the way I am growing 5 big bud and 5 misty strains from nirvana seeds. Do these guys require different strengths? Also when should I start full strength. Thanks guys

  8. If they are doing fine at 1 tsp per gallon then don't be too quick to get them back to full strength; especially since they were nute burned. Keep them here for a week or two and if you dare, slowly up the dosage. I don't grow hydro but, because different strains require different nute requirements, it is a good idea to have them in separate reservoirs. I don't know the nute requirements for your strains.
